Our last stop for our Samal island tour is the Maxima Aqua Fun Resort. Unlike other resorts in the island, they don't have a stretch of white sand beach where you can lay down, unwind and work on your tan. Rather, they offer a vast array of adventurous activities ideal for adventure seekers looking for an exhilarating experience. It's a perfect place for great aqua fun adventure coupled with natural attractions and scenic beauty of nature.
This is a place where you can enjoy swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, fishing and canopy walking. They also have giant slides, diving board, trampoline, water zorb ball, banana boat and jet ski.
The giant slide is what Maxima Aqua Fun Resort is well-known for. This giant tarpaulin slide is one of its kind in the country. It's around 40 meters long and mounted on top of the hill going down to the sea.
I first saw this when I was doing some research for this trip. And it's the first thing I looked for when we arrived at the resort. I said to myself, I want to do this!
I was nervy at first as I don't know how to swim. Hahaha!!! However, life vest is required before you can slide into it. So it’s okay even if you don’t know how to swim. Haha! Here we go, I'm ready...
I sat down at the starting gate, then the attendant poured some water on me to make the slide more slippery and I'm set to slide! Wahhhhhh!!!
Slide!!! I was going so fast and within 15 seconds I was airborne for a couple of seconds until I landed on the sea. Haha! Can you imagine that? The height between the slide's end and the surface of the sea is about 10 feet. Haha! I was a bit worried that I might get hurt as I plunged deeply into the sea. Wahahaha!!! Thank God I'm okay.
Since the use of the slide is unlimited, I did it again! Until I got tired! "Slide all you can!" Hahaha!
Overall, it’s worth the risk and was truly a thrilling experience!
We also tried the Eagle View Canopy Walk located near the resort's entrance. This is actually the first time I've done a canopy walk. Only me and Joan did it! I think it's also her first time.
We excitedly climbed up the stairs going to the starting point of the suspended bridge then walk towards the other end before rappelling down. The bridge is shaking and I was wobbling while walking on it. Pero okay lang, our guide is carefully assisting us while taking our photos as well. Thanks Kuya!
The walk is practically easy but the rappelling down is extremely thrilling. I thought they will just bring me down with the rope, all of a sudden while I was posing and spreading my arms for the photo, the one holding the rope from below dropped me for about 2 meters. Wahhhhhh!!! I wasn't ready for the drop! Haha! But I enjoyed it! It's part of the experience eh.
Indeed, this is a heart pounding experience!
