I think, everyone will agree when I say that “the highlight of every trip to Coron would be the island hopping activity”. As mentioned by a local, "the beauty of Coron cannot be found in the mainland but on the islands surrounding it". Yes indeed! We witnessed these stunning lakes, breathtaking islands, awesome corals gardens, and pristine white sand beaches on one of the best island hopping adventures I've had so far.
Our starting point was in Coron port where we gathered and waited for our boat. While waiting, we wandered around and had some photos taken at the famous Coron sign on top of the hill, as well as on the newly constructed Lualhati park.
Upon boarding the boat, groups of travellers came and joined us. Making us a big group now! Yahoo! I'm glad to have met new friends who, like us, share the common interest for adventures. They came from different places - Samar, Cagayan de Oro, Manila, Cebu, Davao and more!
The island hopping adventure is already included in the packaged tour that we availed at Rudy's place. It consists of Kayangan Lake, Twin Peak Reefs, Atwayan Beach, Coral Garden, CYC Beach and Twin Lagoon. It is also inclusive of a packed lunch (Binalot style) of some grilled fish and liempo, a sea weed salad and distilled bottle of water. The tour rate also covers the snorkeling gears and boat rentals, entrance fees and tour guides.
Words alone cannot give justice as to how we enjoyed and appreciated the breath-taking lake, lagoons, coral gardens and the beaches. So, let the photos tell the story.
KAYANGAN LAKE
TWIN PEAK REEFS
ATWAYAN BEACH
CYC BEACH
TWIN LAGOON
We had a special arrangement with our boatman to bring us to Siete Picados before heading back in town. Since this is not part of the package, you need to shell out Php 100 pesos as entrance fee if you will be swimming and do some feeding of the fishes. I was so tired already and opted to just stay in the boat. My friends did and had a great time swimming and feeding of the fishes.
We went back to our hostel to freshen up and had our dinner.
GIMIK NIGHT
After that tiring day, we deserve a great night out. Together with our new-found friends, we went to "Macario's Grill"; a small bar located near the poblacion. Had some booze and videoke bonding.
What a great way to end our 2nd day in Coron!
Thanks to Kuya Odie, Ate Bait, Mitch, Lyra, Ricky and Jay-ann for sharing some of their photos that I used in this post.
