WHERE TO EAT IN CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Divisoria Night Market, Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental

Cagayan de Oro City in Misamis Oriental was my home-base for 3 days during my adventure trip to Northern Mindanao early this month. Upon arrival at Lumbia Airport, I went out of the airport and took a jeepney bound for Carmen. This is the cheapest way of getting to the city center; it's 17 pesos instead of paying 250 - 300 pesos for a one-way trip to the city center on a cab. From Carmen, I took another jeepney bound for Bonbon and alight at Plaza Divisoria (7 PHP).

Tweet : Greetings from the "City of Golden Friendship" - Cagayan de Oro City...

I don't have any reservation at any hostel in the city. So I walked around until I found King Lawrence Inn (Contact #: 088-8573728) along Capistrano Street. At 200 PHP per night, it's the cheapest accommodation I could find. I settled my things and went out to check on Divisoria Night Market - only a few meters away from the hostel.

Divisoria Night Market is set up during Fridays and Saturdays where you could buy great bargains and good food, enjoy live band music or just simply a place to get together with family and friends. It opens at around 5:00 PM until the early hours the next morning.

I had Chicken Inasal, 2 puso (rice) and a cup of soda for dinner (72 PHP). Sarap!

It was raining so hard when I finished dinner so I had to wait until it subsides. A bottle of beer (1000 ml for 80 PHP)and the beat of the party music all over kept me accompanied while waiting for the rain to stop - which took roughly an hour.

I went back to the hostel, freshen up and went early to bed for my early morning trip to Camiguin the following day.

Tweet : Had a great dinner at CDO's Plaza Divisoria.. too bad it rained, I'm now back in the hostel...

With this, I welcome you to the "City of Golden FriendshipCagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental!!!

This is a part of my Solo Northern Mindanao Adventure that happened last August 6-8, 2011. Misamis Occidental is the 31st province on my list and a part my 7th solo trip.
