HOTELS IN LA UNION: A Luxurious Resort Accommodation at Thunderbird Resorts Poro Point

Working in the IT industry is quite stressful. That's why, weekend getaways organized by our company is what we’re always waiting for. This gives us a time to relax, have fun and enjoy nature away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Last August, we were able to experience an overnight stay in Thunderbird Resorts, a world-class resort located in Poro Point La Union. It felt like spending a vacation in Santorini, Greece with your friends just to relax and enjoy the blissfulness of a happy life.


One of the best hotels and resorts in La Union, Thunderbird Resorts - Poro Point is a Mediterranean-inspired resort that boasts of world-class services & amenities. Situated in a peninsula perched on a 100 foot cliff, this 65-hectare property offers a stylish and ambient atmosphere of a 5-star hotel, international casino, a golf course and the stillness of a lovely seaside. It's a place where luxury, comfort and serenity collide.


The room that were given to us is spectacular. I was speechless! It has two queen-sized beds that are soft and fluffy, plus the huge fluffy pillows, blankets and comforters that compliments it. I felt like I was melting into the bed as I tried it. Woohoo!



There's also an LCD TV, a personal refrigerator, that was hidden inside a cabinet and a desk. A small space beside the closet is where hot water, coffee and tea are provided. Super Fast FREE WIFI around the resort and LAN inside the rooms are also available.




I checked on the toilet and bath. I was at awe when I saw how spacious it is. Whoa! There is an enclosed shower area, a sink with a huge mirror and all the toiletries were provided. I feel like I wanna stay here for long. Hehehe!!!




I then checked on the balcony, it has a small table and 2 chairs. It's perfect for a cup of coffee in the morning while catching some morning sunshine and fresh air. It also provides a stunning vista of the South China sea, a spectacular view of the beach, the swimming pool and the lighthouse from a far.


In-room safe, DVD player with USB port, ipod docking station and surround sound speakers are provided. What else can you ask for?

We wanted to stay longer inside the room but we need to get going as there are scheduled activities for us.

All our food were served on a buffet table. Their restaurant, Olive’s, serves delectable food that will make you forget any diet routines. Hahaha! I think, I gained some more pounds after this trip! Hehehe!








The weather is so humid that afternoon, a perfect time to try the pool. Who could resist the resort's beautifully manicured poolside? It is visually inviting, the white and blue colors were still incorporated to keep up with the theme.






We also had some drinks at the bar in the pool. Cocktails and drinks can be served while you are relaxing in the pool. That’s what pampering and luxury is all about.




As this trip is for us to bond with each other, we had games while enjoying the spectacular view of the sunset.






Dinner, live band, some more team-building games and alcohol loading followed until the wee hours in the morning.







On our 2nd day, we did some aqua sports at the beach. I will tell you on my next post how we enjoyed the beach and how we screamed to death as we ride the mini banana boat.


Thunderbird Resort Poro Point in La Union is a lengthy 5 to 6 hour travel from Manila. It was quite a ride, but it’s definitely worth the butt-numbing trip.
