Popular among local and international tourists, Caramoan is a favorite location of the hit reality TV show "Survivor". The islands has been featured in several seasons which was shown in Serbia, Israel, Bulgaria, Sweden and France. Just recently, the 25th season of the US version of the show finished filming and is set to premiere on September 2012 entitled "Survivor Philippines".
Island hopping and beach bumming are the best things to enjoy in Caramoan Islands. So, from Codon port where to hired a boat, we sailed towards the islands to see what Caramoan has to offer.
Approaching the islands, you'll see towering limestone and rock formations enveloped by clear turquoise waters. You'll also witness breathtaking islands and islets, small and long stretches of white sand beaches and stunning views of lush greenery. The countless islands in Caramoan are truly awesome works of nature. Let me tour you around through these photos.
After almost two hours on the boat, appreciating and taking photos of the scenery, we decided to dock at one of the coves to have a swim. Our boatman told us the name of the cove, but I wasn't able to remember it. Maybe because of too much excitement? Oh! that's just an excuse. Hahaha!
The beach doesn't have that fine white sand; but it's okay, the super clear blue waters and the towering limestone cliffs around is enough for us to enjoy an afternoon swim.
We left the cove after about an hour of owning the beach. Our boatman told us that we will be traversing a different route so we could get near the island where the Survivor series is currently filming.
This is the island where they are shooting the TV series.
We were able to get near to it maybe for about 150 meters away from its shore. We saw some "survivors" hanging around at the shoreline.
But their security is too fast and before we knew it, they were already heading towards us. Somebody from the speedboat waved his hand indicating a "NO" sign. We know that we are not allowed to go any nearer the island since the show is currently filming. Matigas lang talaga ulo namin. Hahaha!
So, we just went back to Codon Port as it was already getting dark. This ends our island hopping adventure in Caramoan which took us about 4 hours.

This is part of my Catanduanes-Caramoan trip that happened last March 24-26, 2012 with my friends Billy, Cris and Edmund. Catanduanes is the 57th province on my list and this trip is my 2nd time to visit Camarines Sur. We had an awesome time just hanging around and exploring the stunning sights of this island province in Bicol region. Join us as I continue my journey to visit all 80 provinces in the Philippines! | |
