Davao Oriental - A Quick Stop at the Sleeping Dinosaur of Mati City

"That's the dinosaur! That's the dinosaur!", I screamed to my friend. Hahaha! He quickly told the bus attendant to stop the bus so we could get off. We hurriedly get off the bus and I was like a little kid as we run towards the viewing deck at the side the highway to the so-called "sleeping dinosaur" of Mati City. Located at Badas Point in Barangay Dawan, you could see this stunning overlooking view of a land formation along Pujada bay that resembles a submerged dinosaur sleeping on its belly.

I couldn't help myself but to stare at it for such a long time as I was so amazed and fascinated with it.

This trip to Mati City in Davao Oriental is quite an experience. The roller coaster and zigzag-y ride makes you feel a little on the edge as you travel along the well-cemented road en route to Mati City. But the stunning view from the outside are just enough reasons to keep you awake and your eyes wide open so as not to miss every breathtaking view.

The Sleeping Dinosaur is definitely one of the key attractions in Mati. Don't miss it when you travel to the city.

How to get to Mati, Davao Oriental
Take a bus bound for Mati, Davao Oriental from Davao City's Ecoland Terminal. It passes by Badas Point in Barangay Dawan. Tell the bus attendant to drop you at the sleeping dinosaur. Airconditioned Bus fare is around 200 pesos, travel time is about 3.5 hours.
