Cottage Kitchen Cafe, "The Best Place for Cajun and Creole Cuisines in Angeles City"

Cottage Kitchen Cafe (CKC) Cajun Creole Restaurant and Jazz Pub opened in Angeles City, Pampanga in 1995. Through the years, the restaurant has grown into a household name and a favorite dining place among locals and tourists visiting the city. It takes pride on their menu a wide selection of authentic Southern food as well as serving mouthwatering BBQ dishes.

For dinner during the 3rd day of Metro Angeles Food Tour 2014 held last July, we were invited by Cottage Kitchen Cafe to try their food. We arrived at the restaurant at around 7:00 in the evening, just in time for dinner. The place is a bit dark already and exudes a very intimate setting, which I like!

Here are the dishes we got to try:

APPETIZERS, SALADS AND SOUP

Creole Onion Soup (PHP 180.00)

This is heavily spiced onion soup with cheese and crouton. Very creamy and flavorful!

Corn Bread (PHP 100.00)

Served with herbed butter, the corn bread is a perfect match to the Creole Onion Soup.

Chef's Salad (PHP 250.00)

Fresh green vegetables topped with ham, eggs, tomatoes and served with thousand island dressing and crackers on the side. A very refreshing salad!

Cajun Shrimp Salad (PHP 270.00)

Fresh greens topped with grilled shrimps and drizzled with wasabi dressing. This one is so good!

Deep Fried Potato Wedges (PHP 180.00)

Perfectly deep fried potato wedges served with thousand island dressing as dip. An ideal starter while waiting for the main dishes.

MAIN DISHES

Zing Wings (PHP 180.00)

Deep fried chicken wings with Cottage Kitchen Cafe's zingy sauce. This one is definitely hot and spicy!

Shrimp Jambalaya (PHP 450.00)

A traditional dish of New Orleans made from cooked down veggies, fresh succulent shrimps, mildly spiced sausages, Southern herbs and spices and mixed with rice.

Blackened Chicken (PHP 385.00)

Grilled chicken breast fillet with herbs and spices. It's so tasty and not dry.

The Original Baby Back Pork (PHP 575.00)

Cottage Kitchen Cafe's house specialty made of lean meaty pork loin ribs slowly charcoal grilled and smoked to tenderness and coated with CKC's original BBQ sauce. It's tender and I love its smoky and burnt flavor!

Cajun Fried Chicken with Dirty Rice (PHP 300.00)

Fried chicken cooked in chili peppers, spices and deep fried to a perfect crisp. It is served with Cottage Kitchen Cafe's patented dirty rice and veggies on the side. This is one of the most recommended dish at Cottage Kitchen Cafe! My favorite!

BBQ Shrimps (PHP 450.00)

Grilled shrimps with rich herbs and spices. Mixed with pesto dressing, it's very juicy and flavorful!

Blackened Catfish (PHP 400.00)

Charred catfish fillet coated with herbs and spices. Its tender, very flavorful and tastes fresh.

Full BBQ Beef Slab (PHP 900.00)

A huge slab of slow cooked beef ribs coated with Cottage Kitchen Cafe's original BBQ sauce. Its so tender that the meat literally falls off the bones.

Cottage Kitchen Cafe Cajun Creole Restaurant and Jazz Pub is open daily from 7:00 AM to 12 midnight. It has been a favorite go-to place for authentic Southern dishes in Angeles City. The food are great and customer service is highly commendable! Though the price is a bit steep, you'll certainly get what you money is worth.

So, if you're looking for a restaurant in Angeles City where you can experience the taste of cooking in Cajun Creole style, Cottage Kitchen Cafe Cajun Creole Restaurant and Jazz Pub is a must-visit.
