After the very enriching Corregidor Island day tour, we went back to Corregidor Inn to check-in. We were booked for a night as we wanted to experience and explore more what Corregidor island has to offer. The Corregidor Inn (sometimes called the Corregidor Hotel and Resort) is a 31-room Hotel and Restaurant that offers comfortable and lovely accommodations set on an old building perched on top of a hill at the heart of the island. This quaint and charming hotel offers room accommodations with private facilities that are clean and well maintained amidst natural setting and tropical ambiance.
There are many hotels in the Philippines, but only a few are rich in history. As it is considered as the last last defensive bastion to surrender to the invading Japanese forces during the second world war, its mysterious and enchanting physique is one of Corregidor Inn's alluring come on.
Upon arrival at the hotel, we went to the reception area where we were welcomed by the hotel staff and assisted with our luggage. Since our overnight accommodation is already included in the packaged tour arranged by Sun Cruises, checking-in was fast and efficient. In less than 5 minutes upon arrival at the hotel, we were given our room key and were ushered to our room by their friendly staff.
Our room is a spacious fully-airconditioned twin room with wooden floors, rattan furniture and capiz windows. It is so nice, feels so comfortable and has a rustic ambiance. It has 2 single beds with white sheets that are clean and coupled with fluffy pillows and blankets.
As I checked on the toilet and bath, it is also spacious and clean. It has a sink, a water closet (sorry, no bidet) and a walk-in shower area with hot and cold shower.
Toiletries such as shampoo with conditioner, toilet paper and bath soap were all provided. Clean and fresh bath towels are also included. It's very basic but definitely a good one.
Corregidor Inn may not be a 5-star hotel but it is complete with facilities and amenities needed for a comfortable stay. It has a souvenir shop, a business center, a restaurant and a swimming pool.
The hotel's restaurant, La Playa Restaurant is located on the left side of the hotel and leads to a veranda that overlooks Manila Bay. The scenic view from the veranda is truly amazing! You'll certainly enjoy your food while savoring on the lush greens and tropical surroundings it offers.
The restaurant has a selection of local and international dishes that will surely tickle your discriminating taste buds. For dinner, we had a huge set meal composed of a vegetable soup, grilled fish, buttered corn, rice and dessert. It was good and very filling! What a perfect way to end our first day on Corregidor Island.
Every booking comes with a complimentary breakfast. So, the following morning, after our sunrise watching and Japanese tunnel tour, we went to the restaurant and had our breakfast. We chose the set breakfast meal composed of tocino and daing na bangus with eggs and rice. They were also good!
Located nearby is an outdoor swimming pool where guests can enjoy swimming after spending a tiring tour around the island. This is the perfect spot to relax, read a book and enjoy the hotel's tropical surroundings while waiting for your next activity.
Before checking out of the hotel at 12:00 noon, we had another set of lunch buffet at the restaurant. This is also part of our packaged overnight tour courtesy of Sun Cruises.
Overall, we had a pleasant and memorable experience at Corregidor Inn. I recommend it for you to stay in if you want enjoy an overnight stay on Corregidor Island.
