Dubbed as "Luzon's premier dive destination," Anilao in the town of Mabini, Batangas is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Philippines. Being just 2 and half hours away from Metro Manila, it is a favorite weekend destination among city dwellers wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a quick getaway. With so many beach resorts in Anilao, finding a place to stay for your trip is not a problem.
Vivere Azure
When visiting Anilao, one should not miss Vivere Azure Resort (Check rates online), Anilao's premiere luxury boutique resort. It is a slice of paradise with its topnotch tropical amenities, impeccable customer service and amazing boutique suites with a touch of Mediterranean, Asian and Filipino design.
I've been to Anilao several times in the past as it is one of my favorite destinations in the province of Batangas. Just last month, I am back in Anilao and got to spend a 5-star luxury getaway at Vivere Azure.
Upon arrival at the resort, we were hospitably welcomed by the hotel staff.
We then proceeded to the check-in desk where we were warmly greeted by the resort manager and pleasantly assisted us with checking-in. Since we already have prior reservation, checking-in was fast and efficient. It only took about 5 minutes and we were ushered to our beautiful suite.
Anima Suite
Our booked accommodation is 1-bedroom Anima Suite. It is a 53.15 sq. meter suite with Balinese-inspired interiors and well-equipped with complete modern and luxurious amenities.
Upon entering our room, my jaw dropped when I saw how spacious and lovely our room suite is. I am totally mesmerized! It is very huge, clean and has lovely and sophisticated interiors.
It smells fresh, clean with top-notch amenities designed to meet the most discriminating taste of its guests. I think our suite room could fit up to 6 persons.
At one side of the room is a grand king-size bed coupled with clean white sheets, plush comforter and very soft and super fluffy pillows. I quickly tried it and my back loves it! Very relaxing!
The room suite also has one bedroom with two single beds also coupled with quality bedding.
It is also equipped with all the much-needed amenities for a comfortable and relaxing stay. It has a small living area with a comfy day-bed/sofa, a mini refrigerator, individually-controlled air-conditioning units, in-room safe, a DVD player and flat screen cable TV, insect repellent with citronella oils, ceiling fan, toilet and bath and a mini bar with coffee making set and complimentary bottled water.
The toilet is separated from the bathroom by a lovely sink. They are clean, organized and offers superior amenities needed for a comfortable stay. There's a shower area with rain shower feature and hot and cold shower, a lovely sink with a huge mirror, clean water closet with bidet spray and a clothes and towel hanging area.
Soft and fluffy hand & body towels and quality toiletries (READ: Not Cheap) such as bath soap, shampoo, conditioner, vanity & dental care kits and body lotion were also provided. I loved it! Everything we need are here! I couldn't ask for more!
It also features a full-length glass window with doors leading to a private veranda with a stunning view of the beach.
With this kind of room amenities, guests will surely have a comfortable and awesome stay that you'll end up just staying inside the comforts of their room suite.
Sunset Viewing
Since we arrived late in the afternoon of our first day, we just rested inside our lavish room. We went out of our room and proceeded to the pool area when the sun is about to set and took photos. It didn't disappoint. Anilao really has one of the best best sunsets in the country. Don't miss it when you stay at Vivere Azure!
After the sun disappeared in the horizon, we just enjoyed our time lounging at the poolside and at the reception area while enjoying the resort's complimentary WiFi internet access while sipping on fresh fruit shakes.
Sumptuous Dinner
We then went back to our room and prepared for dinner served at their in-house restaurant. The restaurant is so lovely even at night. It has nice couches, a few tables and a grand overlooking view of the beach.
Our dinner is a full course meal composed of a soup, salad, a main dish and dessert. Guests may choose their main course from their selection of international cuisines. We chose Duet of Salmon and Lapu-lapu and Hickory Pork Ribs which is one of their best-sellers according to their staff.

We then went back to our room to rest. There's nothing much to do at the resort at night. You may either lounge at the cabanas or have a night swim at the pool. We opted to sleep early and just enjoy the resort's facilities the following morning.
Delightful Breakfast
Feeling refreshed, we woke up early and proceeded to the restaurant to have our breakfast. The restaurant is more beautiful during day time. I love the relaxing and trendy ambiance that the restaurant offers. And oh, don't miss the breathtaking view of the sea on one side of the restaurant while enjoying your meals.
There are plenty of choices from their breakfast menu composed of Filipino and Classic breakfast favorites. We had a delicious ensemble of Fried Swordfish and US Tenderloin Beef Tapa. It is complemented with strips of bacon and 2 sunny side eggs.

The serving is quite big and awesomely good! It's one of the best breakfasts I ever had!

The resort offers numerous on-site facilities to satisfy even the most discerning guest. They have an excellent variety of recreational facilities such as a private beach, a lavish infinity pool, massage and spa services, billiards, lounging areas and well-manicured gardens.
They also offer diving packages and water sports activities that the family will surely enjoy.
Infinity Pool
Our most favorite part of the resort is the infinity pool with a sweeping view of the beach and the nearby Tingloy island. It is where we spent most of our time just lounging by the poolside and enjoying the breathtaking view of Maricaban Strait and other islets.
WIFI Internet Access
Complimentary WiFi internet connection is available anywhere in the resort. Though it gets a bit weak when inside our room, connection is fast and stable. For someone who needs to be online, this is really an awesome treat!
