How to get to Romblon

The Province of Romblon is located in MIMAROPA Region (Region 4B) and is known for its marble industry. The province is a group of several islands located south of mainland Luzon and is composed of three major islands (Tablas, Sibuyan and Romblon) and 17 minor and small islands. Its capital town also named Romblon, located in one of the major islands of the same name.

The capital town of Romblon is an island town in the middle of the 2 bigger islands, Tablas and Sibuyan. There are many things to do, activities to experience and sights enjoy in Romblon, Romblon. So, if you're planning a visit, here's a travel guide on how to get to Romblon, Romblon.

TRAVEL GUIDE: How to Get to Romblon, Romblon from Manila


1. From Manila, take a bus bound for Batangas Port. Travel time is about 2 hours and fare is around 130.00 pesos. You may take Jac Liner or Jam Liner with terminals found in Cubao and Buendia Pasay.

2. Upon arrival in Batangas Port, go to the RORO ticketing offices to buy your tickets.

3. There are 2 major RORO boats that travels to Romblon, Romblon. One is Montenegro Shipping Lines with a route of Batangas-Odiongan-Romblon. Another one is 2GO Travel with a route of Batangas-Romblon-Roxas. A smaller company such as MV Navios also has Batangas-Romblon trips. Please refer to the trip schedules and fares below.

Montenegro Shipping Lines Schedule

The schedule of their boat is every Monday, Thursday and Saturday at 5:00 PM. Estimated travel time is about 12 hours since the boat stops in Odiongan before proceeding to Romblon, Romblon. Time of arrival in Romblon is around 5:00 AM the next day.

2GO Travel Schedule

If you want a faster travel going to Romblon, Romblon, you may opt to take 2GO Travel's Batangas-Romblon boat. The ferry leaves Batangas Port every Tuesday and Friday at 10:00 PM. It is faster because it doesn't stop in Odiongan. Estimated travel time is about 8 hours. Time of arrival in Romblon, Romblon is around 6:00 AM the next day.

  • Tourist Class - 1,214.00
  • Cabin for 4 - 1,530.00/person

4. After purchasing your tickets, pay the terminal fee of 30.00 pesos.

5. Wait until the boarding announcement to board the RORO boat.

Going back to Batangas


For Montenegro Shipping Lines, the RORO ship leaves the Port of Romblon every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday at 2:00 PM.

For 2GO Travel, the RORO Ship leaves Romblon every Wednesdays at 9:00 PM and Saturdays at 10:00 PM.

Tips and Reminders:

  • Be early in Batangas Port, boarding time is 1 hour before the estimated time of departure.
  • During holidays and long weekends, it's better to take 2Go Travel since they have online reservations.
  • If you're going directly to Romblon island, take 2Go Travel; if you're going to Odiongan, take Montenegro Shipping Lines.
  • If taking Montenegro Shipping Lines, it is advisable to bring food and water. Although they have a store inside the ship, they only offer limited meals.
  • 2Go Travel has an awesome restaurant which offers good food, though it's a bit expensive.
  • If you're going to Romblon island, it is better to take 2Go Travel than Montenegro Shippin Lines. 2Go Travel's ship is bigger, cleaner and has better customer service.
