There's more reason to drop by The National Museum this month! In celebration of National Heritage Month, The National Museum of the Philippines is offering Free Admission to all National Museums in the country, including those in the regions such as Vigan, Kiangan, Kabayan, Angono-Binangonan Petroglyphs, Tabaco, Bohol, Butuan and Jolo (Sulu).
The National Museum also invites everyone to a FREE Lecture as we celebrate National Heritage Month.
The National Museum presents a lecture on the Agta of Eastern Luzon by Dr. P. Bion Griffin, Professor Emeritus of Anthropology at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa.
Having worked closely with the Agta of Palanan, Isabela, Dr. Griffin has taken an "ecological approach and material focus to modern hunters", leading him "to seek both the basis of today’s humid tropics foragers, and to consider the many models associated with human biocultural evolution, from the Plio-Pleistocene through the development of farming".
His lecture is at 10 am on Thursday, May 5 at the NM Auditorium (Old Legislative Building). For inquiries, please call Ms. Yohana Frias at (02) 5271232 or email nationalmuseumph@yahoo.com.
The National Museum is located along P. Burgos Drive at the old Finance building, it is open from Tuesdays to Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
