"TAZA" was derived from the Arabic word Taaza which means "fresh". That is exactly what Taza Fresh Table Restaurant in Taal Vista Hotel promises to serve their guests. Taza a farm-to-table inspired restaurant that showcases the local produce, meats, veggies and seafood from around the country and from Taal Vista Hotel's own garden.
Last month, together with my blogger friends, we had a delightful lunch at Taza Fresh Table Restaurant during our overnight stay at Taal Vista Hotel.
Upon arrival at the restaurant, I was instantly impressed with its very welcoming and "fresh" ambiance featuring glass walls with a 180-degree view of the surroundings. Located right at the ridge, it offers guests an overlooking view of the famed Taal Lake and Volcano while savoring on the mouthwatering dishes they offer.
Mezze (PHP 700)
Our awesome food experience started with a serving of an appetizer called Mezza. Served with flat breads and 4 Mezzes - Sauteed Chicken Liver and Garlic Confit, Spinach with Bacon Jam, Hummus and Chorizo with Garlic. It's a nice way to start your food adventure at Taza while waiting for the other dishes. And don't forget, it's best eaten with hands. :)Vegetable Soup
We then had a hot serving of Vegetables Soup. It's a great complement to warm our stomachs a little bit. I love the taste of the freshness of the veggies used.Watermelon Salad (PHP 295)
A delightful combination of fresh romaine lettuce, batavia, pancetta, kesong puti from Laguna, cashew, chickpeas and drizzled with calamansi dressing. Taza's Watermelon Salad is a very refreshing salad, I must say!Taza Salad (PHP 385)
The restaurant's signature salad, Taza Salad is a combination of quinoa, cherry tomatoes, wild arugula, farm-fresh romaine lettuce, microgreens, dried mangoes from Cebu, radish, beets, a la minute tarragon and tossed in white wine vinaigrette. I love the added flavor that the dried mangoes give to the fresh and crisp veggies. Definitely a must-try!Tomahawk Porkchop (PHP 800)
Perfectly fried bone-in pork chop weighing approximately 1.2 kilograms per serving. Taza's Tomahawk Porkchop is bursting with rich flavors. The meat is so tender and falls off the bone. It pairs very well with the mashed potatoes and sweet caramelized onions served on the side.Grilled Turmeric Chicken (PHP 550)
Tender grilled chicken in yogurt, fresh turmeric, ginger, cilantro and tzatziki, this Grilled Turmeric Chicken is very tasty and best paired with the coconut rice served on the side.Paperdelle Bolognese (PHP 520)
A classic all-beef ragout with tomatoes and herbs and topped with parmesan cheese, Taza's Paperdelle Bolognese will surely be loved by any pasta lover. Yummmm!!!Sole ala meuniere (PHP 760)
My favorite at Taza Fresh Table Restaurant! Sole ala meuniere is a classic French fish dish cooked in haricot verts, roasted peppers, raisins, cashew nuts and brown butter. This is definitely a must-try at Taza Fresh Table!Desserts
As the saying goes "save some space for desserts." So, we ended our delightgul lunch with their yummy servings of exceptional desserts. We had Olive Oil Ice Cream (PHP 215) with glazed Tagaytay pineapple, Napoleon (PHP 225) which is made from homemade mascarpone cheese, barako coffee and otap and the sinfully delicious Molten Chocolate Cake (PHP 225) made from Alfonso Cavite's tablea chocolate and topped with Pato queso de bola ice cream. When dining at Taza Fresh Table, be sure that you still have space in you stomach and try their desserts.Overall, we had a delightful dining experience at Taza Fresh Table Restaurant. When dining at Taza, you don't just enjoy the cool breeze of Tagaytay and the restaurant's great ambiance but also get to experience carefully-crafted dishes made from the freshest ingredients from around the country.
