Experience Luxe Retreat and Superb Hospitality at Marco Polo Hotel, Ortigas Manila

Staying in a hotel that leaves a lasting and memorable experience is what we love doing most. There are times that we just go somewhere to have a relaxing getaway and do nothing but to enjoy what the place offers. There are also times that we are too lazy to travel far and we just want to have a "staycation" in the metro to unwind or have a luxe retreat. Recently, we had a relaxing and stylish staycation at Marco Polo Hotel in Ortigas, one of Metro Manila's highly regarded 5-star hotels.

A member of the international chain of Marco Polo Hotels, it is the first 5-star Marco Polo hotel in the Philippines offering 316 spacious and well-appointed rooms and suites that will surely satisfy its most discerning guests.

Upon arrival at the hotel, we proceeded to the 24th floor where the huge lobby of the hotel is located. Since we arrived very early of the check-in time, we had to wait for a while to get checked-in.

When we got our room's key cards, we took the elevator to the 32nd floor where our room is located. You need to tap your key card at the elevator to access the floor where your room is located. This is an added hotel security which only allows guests to access the floor where their room is located; as well access to the common areas such as the lobby, swimming pool, spa, gym and the restaurants. This is a very important security measure that assures every guest that only registered guests can access the hotel rooms.

Upon entering our room, I could certainly feel and smell its freshness and cleanliness. Our room is a luxurious Superior Room that can accommodate two adults and two children. It is professionally designed in modern minimalist style and done in elegant earth tones.

It is highlighted with a Queen-sized bed with plush goose down bed toppers and complemented with high-quality and fresh white sheets, hotel-quality duvet and very fluffy pillows for an overall relaxing sleep experience. I quickly tried it! It's so comfy and my back certainly loves it!

The room is also equipped with high-end and state-of-the-art amenities such as a centralized air-conditioning, an executive work desk with lamp, a telephone, television set with cable channels, a breakfast nook, a built-in closet, mirror, an electronic safe, a Nespresso coffee machine, a mini-bar and refrigerator with complimentary bottled water, a multi-docking device with Bluetooth technology for personal gadgets, complimentary high-speed WiFi access, among many others. And there's also a welcome treat of fresh apples! Yey!

I then checked on the toilet and bath. I was impressed! It is spacious and very clean! It has a separate toilet and bath with high-pressure hot and cold rain shower, marble bathtub and a lavatory with huge mirror. Unfortunately, the toilet doesn't have a bidet spray.

For me, it is very important to have a bathroom that is clean and well organized. Marco Polo Ortigas did not disappoint, from the sink to the water closet, to the shower area, they are all clean. Toiletries such as shampoo, bath gel, bath soap and dental care and vanity kits were also provided. The body and hand towels, as well as the bathrobes are soft, fluffy and all smell fresh!

F&B Service

Marco Polo Hotel Ortigas has several dining outlets namely Café Pronto, Cucina, Lung Hin, Connect Lounge and VUs. We got to dine at Lung Hin Restaurant during dinner where we had a delightful and very satisfying dining experience.

Breakfast Buffet

While for breakfast, Marco Polo's Cucina will fill and satisfy you with sumptuous dishes from the wide array of international and Filipino cuisines offered at the buffet breakfast. What I love most at their buffet breakfast is the healthy section where I got to enjoy fresh fruits and juices.

The buffet breakfast that comes with every booking at the hotel is served at Cucina from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM. As an all-day dining restaurant, Cucina also offers daily lunch buffet from 12:00 nn to 2:30 pm and dinner buffet from 6:00 pm to 10:30 pm.

Aside from the restaurants, don't miss the roof deck bar at the hotel's 44th floor which offers the best views of the bustling Ortigas skyline and panoramic valley and mountain views of Rizal province. What I like most about Marco Polo Hotel Ortigas are their very accommodating and helpful staff. When we needed help, they are just a phone call away and always ready to assist us with our needs. Even the security guards at the entrance is very helpful in giving us directions when we asked for a certain place. I believe that one of the key assets of Marco Polo Hotel Ortigas are their highly-commendable staff that are always ready to give superb hospitality to its guests.
