Going on a holiday in a cruise ship is just one of the many items in my bucket list. I really thought it would take a long time before I'd be able to cross it out on my list. But luckily, I was invited by Star Cruises Asia to experience their Superstar Gemini that cruises along Malacca Strait from Singapore with onshore excursions in Penang and Langkawi Malaysia and then back to Singapore.
Last October 23, 2016, we flew from Manila to Singapore. After passing through Singapore's Changi Airport, we took our bus service to the HarborFront where Star Cruises' Superstar Gemini is docked. Singapore HarborFront Center is located adjacent to Vivo City, which is considered as the country's biggest shopping center. So, while waiting for your check-in, it is also an awesome place to roam around, eat or shop.

After checking-in our baggage and passing through the immigration, we boarded the ship and started sailing at around 3 O'clock in the afternoon. From then on, I knew were up for an awesome 4-day cruise holiday.

1. Awesome Room Accommodation
Our cabin is an amazing Superior Oceanview State Room equipped with all the essential amenities needed for a comfortable stay. It has 2 single beds coupled with hotel-quality mattresses, clean white cotton sheets, comforters and fluffy pillows. It also has an en suite toilet and bath, a small living area overlooking the sea, cabinets, a dresser with mirror, personal refrigerator and an LCD TV. The toilet and bath is a bit small but it is complete with essentials such as a clean water closet, a sink and a shower area with hot and cold shower. Basic toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, dental care kit and clean bath towels were also provided.

2. Delectable Food Offerings
Superstar Gemini offers eleven restaurants for guests to dine in. For breakfast, lunch and dinner, guests could dine in four of them as they are already included in the cruise package. These restaurants offers buffet dining every single time. If you love Asian cuisines you should try Mariners Restaurant located at Deck 9. Also located at Deck 9 is Bella Vista Restaurant where you could indulge on sumptuous Western cuisines. If you love Chinese dishes go to Dynasty Restaurant located at Deck 11 and for outdoor buffet dining experience and barbecues, I highly suggest Oceana Barbeque Restaurant located at Deck 12, my favorite!

3. Spectacular Shows
During our cruise, we were able to watch some of Superstar Gemini's spectacular shows. We watched an amazing magic show, a special concert show by no other than the "Philippine's R&B Princess," Kyla, a musical play called "Queen of Hearts," and the "Marionettes" adult show! All of the show onboard happens at Stardust Lounge and everything were already included in the cruise package, except for the adult show which costs SGD 110.00 and the Neon Party which costs SG 15.00.

4. Impressive Things To Do Onboard
A wide array of exciting amenities onboard Superstar Gemini will keep you entertained. Aside from watching the shows, you could swim in one of their 2 outdoor pools and 2 Jacuzzi, try your luck in their Casino, sing your heart out at their Videoke Lounge, shop for souvenirs and pasalubong in their Duty Free Shop, lift some weights or have a relaxing massage and spa treatments at King Neptune Health Club, among many others. Certainly you wouldn't get bored on the ship with all these amazing things to do. And 4 days is not enough to try all of them. Bitin! Hehehe!

5. Professional and Highly-Competent Crew
I am happy to know that their crew is composed of mostly Filipinos. But there's also a good mix of staff from India, Nepal, Indonesia, Japan, China and from other parts of the world. One of the things I loved most about this cruise holiday are Superstar Gemini's very accommodating and helpful staff. They are well-trained courteous and gives you a warm smile all the time. When we needed help, they are always ready to assist us with our needs. I believe that one of their key and most important assets are their highly-commendable staff.

6. Awesome WiFi Internet Connection
These days, internet connection is very important when traveling. Superstar Gemini provides a paid internet service onboard for SGD 50.00 which is for unlimited connection for the entire duration of the cruise. Depending on our ship's location, it get slow sometimes; but I'm fine with it as I also have my FlytPack Travel WiFi with me. So I connect either at the ship's WiFi service or to my FlytPack Travel WiFi. Being connected to the internet is an awesome treat because I could posts photos in my social media accounts as well as stay connected to my friends and family back home.

7. Exciting Onshore Tours
Part of our 4-day cruise holiday are onshore excursions in Panang and Langkawi, Malaysia. These are not part of the cruise package but you can avail a tour of your choice at the Shorex Counter located at the ship's Deck 7. Group tours can be arranged for as low as SGD 45.00 per person. This includes the tour of your choice, a tour guide and transportation around the town.
However, you can also explore on your own if you’d prefer to tour around at your own pace. Doing some research prior to your cruise holiday will help you to get the most out of your excursions. Just be sure to get back to the ship on time.
8. Make New Friends
I believe that all great adventures help travelers to step out their comfort zone, expand their horizons, and meet new people. Going on a cruise holiday is definitely an awesome opportunity to make new friends, socialize with people and share an experience together that you will cherish for a lifetime. I truly had a lot of fun times with these bunch of travel bloggers and gain a few new friends.
