As a hiker for several years, I've climbed mountains and stayed overnight in a tent many times in the past; and I know very well how inconvenient it is. Truly, camping in a tent is not for everyone. Uncomfortable sleep, where to take a bath and toilet are just some of the concerns we encounter when staying in a tent.
But don't get me wrong. Staying in a tent is such an awesome experience. The bonding experience with your friends when you stay inside one tent and being close to nature are just some of the best things about it. But, not everyone can deal with some of the "inconveniences" of conventional camping. So, if you want to experience staying in a tent in a glamorous way, why not try glamping?
What is Glamping?
Glamping, which refers to "glamorous camping" is basically having the feel of camping but with some of the luxury and comfort of a hotel room such as a comfy bed, fan/airconditioning unit and a toilet and bath. It's an exciting and stylish way to enjoy nature and the outdoors at the same time.
Glamping at Nayomi Sanctuary Resort
Just recently, we were invited by Nayomi Sanctuary Resort in Belete, Batangas (check rates online) to try their newly-opened glamping accommodation. Still on soft opening, we were the very first guests to enjoy their glamorous camping tents. Let me share to you our experience.
Coming from Metro Manila, we arrived at the resort around 7 o'clock in the evening and we were warmly welcomed by the resort's staff. After checking-in, we proceeded to the camping site where the resort's glamping accommodations are located.
It's my first time to try glamping, so I don't really have too much expectations. It was already dark and we weren't able to really appreciate the place. But to my surprise, the camping site is so lovely even at night.
Our tent is beautifully-built and so spacious that it could fit from 4 to 6 people. Inside, there are two double-size beds with hotel-quality and super comfy mattresses, soft linens, blankets, and fluffy pillows. There's also an electric fan for ventilation, lamp shades, a storage chest to keep your stuff and power outlets to charge your gadgets.
Nayomi Resort's glamping accommodation differentiate itself from other glamping sites in the country by using Canvass Camp bell tents. It is spacious, sturdy and you can even stand and walk inside the tent. It can also be secured with a padlock, so you won't have to worry if you leave your things inside the tent. How cool is that?!
Toilet and Bath
Every tent has its own toilet and bath located nearby. It has clean water closet with bidet spray, a sink with mirror and a shower area with excellent water pressure. Clean bath towels and tissue paper were provided. However, toiletries are not provided, so you have to bring your own.
Adjacent to the tent is an open air living / dining area where guests could lounge over some bottles of beer, fresh fruit shakes or enjoy good food from Nayomi Resort's Anahaw Restaurant.
The following morning, we woke up in the midst of majestic mountain views, lush greens and cold weather. I love it! The camping site is perched on a mountain hill and tall mango tress provide much-needed shade at the camping area plus the lush gardens give it an off-the-grid appeal.
Anahaw Restaurant
The glamping package already includes complimentary breakfast at their in-house restaurant, Anahaw Restaurant. It serves a wide array of international and local dishes including Batangas specials such as Bulalo, Lomi, Crispy Tawilis and Balete Suman. Yummmm!!! It is open from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm daily. So if you get hungry any time of the day, it won't be a problem as you can order from Anahaw Restaurant's wide array of dishes.
Breakfast is ala carte where you choose from Anahaw Restaurant's menu of set breakfast meals. We had Daing and Beef Tapa, both served with fried rice, eggs, atchara, fried banana and brewed coffee. Yummmmm!
Other Resort Amenities
Other facilities that guests can enjoy include two lovely swimming pools, manicured gardens, kid's play park, lounge area and a bar.
Nayomi Sanctuary Resort can also arrange fun activities like hiking, boating, biking, Marian Orchard Batangas tour, as well as thrilling water sports such as banana boat ride, jet ski, flying fish, speed boat, among many other exciting activities that the resort offers.
