RESORT REVIEW: La Luz Beach Resort in Laiya San Juan, Batangas

If you think you've explored what Batangas has to offer, think again. Have you been to Laiya Beach in San Juan Batangas? This lovely seaside community is a popular destination for city dweller because of its proximity from Metro Manila. Boasting of long stretch of shoreline with cream sand beach, enticing clear waters, and a variety of fun activities tucked in natural setting, every visitor will sure have a fun and memorable time in Laiya Beach!

Laiya is home to many lovely beach resorts, hotels, transient and vacation houses. If you're looking for nice beaches near Manila, traveling to Laiya in San Juan Batangas will not disappoint. Just last month, we were invited by La Luz Beach Resort to check out their property located right in front of one of the nicest beaches in Batangas. As one of the biggest resorts in Laiya, they offer several rooms that will surely make your Batangas getaway fun and memorable.

Junior Premier Room

Our room is a Junior Premier Room (See rates online) with a queen size bed coupled with clean white sheets and pillows. It is also equipped with essential amenities such as an en suite toilet and bath, luggage rack, lamp shade, a work desk, clothes hanging area, and an individually-controlled airconditioning unit. Though very basic, the room is clean and well-organized.

The toilet and bath is spacious and well-lit. It has a wide lavatory with mirror, a water closet with bidet spray, and shower area with hot and cold shower feature. Clean bath towels and basic toiletries such as shampoo and bath soap were also provided.

Outside the room, there's also a small lounging area where we spent most of our time just hanging around while sipping a good cup of coffee or just enjoying the tropical surroundings.

Dining

Every booking at La Luz Beach Resort, overnight guests must avail their meal package which includes lunch upon arrival, afternoon snacks, dinner, and breakfast. The best part with their meal package is that, it's buffet! So, when staying at the resort, food will never be a problem.

Sports Bar

If you want to unwind after a day of adventure, you'll certainly enjoy the resort's sports bar. It offers beers and cocktails perfect for bonding with your friends while playing billiards or watching your favorite sports shows on the television. This is the only place in the resort with a television.

Activities

If you love the thrill of aqua experience, then La Luz Beach Resort will certainly satisfy your itch for adventure. You will surely enjoy the many water activities they offer; such as jet ski, banana boat ride, snorkeling, flying fish, kayak, among many other exciting activities. They also have a playing cards and board games available for rent. There's also a nightly Bonfire for all the guests to enjoy. Definitely, you'll never get bored when staying at La Luz Beach Resort.

Spa

If you love massages and papering yourself after a day of adventure, make the most out of your stay by availing their massage service done by their well-trained therapists.

Sunsets and Sunrises

The best thing I love about La Luz Beach Resort is its location which offers stunning views of the sunset and the sunrise. I really enjoy starting my day with a beautiful sunrise and ending it watching a lovely sunset. Both can be enjoyed at the resort! How cool is that?

Weddings and Event Venues

La Luz Beach Resort also makes an ideal venue for any event such as weddings, reunions, conferences, or company outings. They have different event venues such as the Beachfront which could accommodate more than 250 persons, The Cove which could accommodate up to 120 guests, the Day Trip Area that can accommodate more than 200 persons, and the By the Rocks venue that can accommodate 60 persons. For smaller groups, they have the Hilltop Villa which can accommodate up to 30 persons, and some private cabanas ideal for private and intimate gatherings.

They also have a conference hall which has 3 sections that can be converted into one big hall. Each section can accommodate 25 people and the entire hall can accommodate up to 80 persons. Projector and audio equipment are also available upon request.

Internet Connection

Complimentary WiFi internet connection is available anywhere in the resort. Though it gets a bit weak in some areas and when inside the room, connection is good and stable. For someone who wants to be online, free internet connection is really an awesome treat!

Published Rates

You may visit their website at www.laluzbeachresort.com for the updated room rates. They offer several rooms types that cater to the diverse need of its valued guests. Occupancy is dependent on the room type booked. Standard check-in time is at 1:00 PM and check-out time is 11:00 NN.

Annex Loft (PHP 5,850 per night)

Good for 8 persons and can accommodate up to 12 persons.

Premier Loft (PHP 6,760 per night)

Good for 7 persons and can accommodate up to 10 persons.

Premier Room (PHP 4,950 per night)

Good for 4 persons and can accommodate up to 6 persons.

Dorm Room (PHP 8,730 per night)

Good for 16 persons. Extra person is not allowed in this room.

Hilltop Villa

Ideal for honeymooners, family get-together, or barkada getaway.

Notes:

• All guests are included in the room headcount.
• No extra charge for children ages 5 years old and below.
• Extra person with mattress is PHP 540.00 each; without mattress is PHP 350.00 pesos each.

Day Trip Package

You can also avail their day trip package from 8:00 to 5:00 pm, for PHP 1,035 pesos per person. This includes the entrance fee, free use of cabanas, lunch upon arrival and afternoon snacks.

HOW TO GET THERE: From Manila (Buendia or Cubao), take a bus bound for Lipa City. Then take a jeepney bound for San Juan. In San Juan Public Market, there are jeepneys and tricycle that will take you to Laiya Beach.
