Nature’s Eye Resort, “The Best Place to Stay Close with Nature in Guimaras!”

There are lots of hidden paradises in the Philippines and one of them is the island of Guimaras. Exploring this stunning but underrated utopia is highly recommended if you love peaceful and serene vacation.

Speaking of serenity, there's a resort in Guimaras called Nature's Eye Resort, located at Sitio Guisi Rd, Brgy. Tando Proper, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras. Going there will take you about 2 hours if you are coming from Iloilo City. But what we did is upon arrival in Guimaras, we started our island tour visiting the different tourist spots and attractions on the island, then we proceeded to Nature’s Eye Resort. This way we could save on time.

Alternatively, you can choose your transportation depending on your preference. You can commute from Jordan Wharf to Brgy Tando. This will take up to 1-hour jeepney ride. Locals say that jeepneys taking this route run only once a day, from 7 to 9 in the morning. Worried you might miss the ride? You can still ride a jeepney from Jordan Wharf to Pandaraonan and just ride a tricycle to Brgy. Tando Proper. Also, you can avail a tricycle tour then at the end of the tour, you can just ask the driver to bring to Brgy. Tando where the resort is just a short 15-minute walk. You may also contact the resort in advance so they could assist you in getting to the resort.

Nature's Eye Resort is a secluded holiday haven for nature lovers. It has abundant trees, amazing views, alluring beach, and offers a beautiful sunset. Unlike other resorts, they don't offer much when it comes to amenities since aside from the cottages, restaurant, and the beach, they actually have none. The best part is you don't even need them because nature itself is relaxing and waiting for you to experience.

For our stay at Nature's Eye Resort, our lovely accommodation for 2 nights is their Sunset View Cottage that is made from nipa roof, seashells, salvaged woods, and other native materials. You will enjoy the privacy because cottages are far from each other giving you peace and calming vibes. If you came here to relax and have a quiet vacation, then you had a good decision.

Our room is very simple, it has a queen size bed with clean white sheets, blankets, and pillows, a ceiling fan, mosquito net, a toilet and bath, and a veranda with a hammock overlooking the beach.

The veranda is our most-favorite spot of our cottage because this is where we get to enjoy the stunning sunset each day.

The best thing about our Sunset View Cottage is that the lovely beach is just in front of us! And even if it doesn’t have an air-conditioning unit, the fresh breeze of air coming from the outside is enough for you to have a peaceful night. We actually left the windows open when we sleep. What could be better than that?

What surprised us is the toilet and bathroom. The bathroom is revealing where it is only covered partially by small swing door and the rest is an open view of the beach. For some, it might be a little discomfort at first but if you get used to it, for sure it will turn out to be a remarkable experience of truly being one with nature.

Food and drinks are also not a problem at the resort. They have a restaurant that serves freshly-caught seafood that you can indulge for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can even ask them how you want it to be cooked. And oh, the view from the restaurant is certainly breathtaking! Don’t miss it!

One of the activities we did while staying at Nature's Eye Resort is visiting a sandbar, just 30 minutes away from the resort. It is managed by the locals as part of the livelihood program given to them when the area was declared as a marine sanctuary. It has a floating cottage near the sandbar where guests could relax and enjoy the clear and cold turquoise waters. The shallow water at the sandbar is a perfect place to swim, even for kids. Entrance fee to the sandbar is 50 pesos which goes for the maintenance and upkeep of the facilities.

Boat ride to the sandbar is 500 pesos for 2 persons. But if you avail a package from the resort, island tour for 3 hours is already included. Good deal right?

Other available cottages are the Ocean View, Cliff, and the newly-opened Ocean View lower deck cottage. Each room is air-conditioned, and has a king-size bed, and a private toilet and bath. Best of all, every room has its own balcony where you could enjoy both the view of the ocean and the sunset.

Overall, we had a memorable stay at Nature's Eye Resort. The cottages are so nice, the staff are warm and accommodating, and its secluded location makes it an ideal place to stay for honeymooners, couples and small groups or family wanting to have a private and peaceful vacation.
