The Galleon Andalucia is a replica of the 17th century Spanish galleon that plied the Manila-Acapulco route centuries ago. It arrived in Port Area Manila last October 6, 2010 as part of Dia del Galleon Festival 2010.
The Galleon Andalucia reminds us of our history that we are once part of the Galleon trade of Europe, the America's, and Africa.
A vast number of people flocked to the port area to have a glimpse of the galleon. Of course, I will not let this oppurtunity to pass.
It was already 9:00 AM, when we got the chance to enter the port area. And the long wait started.
Kahit mahirap, mainit at nakakapagod pumila, it's all worth the wait, kasi along the way, I met new friends, at eto sila:
(tinalo nito ang limang (5) oras na pagpila namin sa Manila Cathedral last year on Pres. Cory's wake...)
Run! Run! Run! Tamaa!!! =D Salamat sa inyong lahat...
At around 4:00 PM, we finally had the chance to come close to the Galleon. It's so amazing! Ang ganda talaga!!! So, with limited time given to us, we took pictures as quick as possible. We were only allowed to be near the galleon for 10-15 minutes.
We ended our day with a snack at 7-11. A well deserved snack! Wahahaha!!!
Thanks to Axl and Benj for sharing photos from their cameras.
whaha naunahan mo ko i blog to... tatamad pa ko ikwento ung adventure na to :D

ReplyDeleteEight hours kayong pumila just to be closed enough to touch the ship? Nobody allowed to board? That sucks!
