A long holiday await Filipinos as the month of August 2011 ends.
Under Proclamation 84, s. 2010, Malacañang declared that August 29 (Monday) and Eid'l Fitr which falls on August 30 (Tuesday) this year are non-working holidays making it a 4-day long weekend.
August 29, is a regular holiday which is the celebration of the National Heroes Day.
August 30, a national holiday in the country for Eid'l Fitr, the celebration of the end of Ramadan, our Muslim brothers and sisters' holy month of fasting.
The palace is yet to release a proclamation for the August 30 holiday. Hence, I will be updating this post as soon as Malacañang releases the proclamation.
We haven't had any long weekends for quite some time now. What's your plans? Tara na, Byahe tayo!
UPDATE:
Last August 11, 2011, Malacañang issued Proclamation 234 DECLARING TUESDAY, 30 AUGUST 2011, AS A REGULAR HOLIDAY THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY IN OBSERVANCE OF EID’L FITR (FEAST OF RAMADHAN).
