ACCOMMODATIONS

There are a number of cheap inns and affordable lodging houses available at the City center. But, if you are on a tight budget (like me), I would recommend North Hill Pension House.

11:00 AM - ETA at Spice of Life Beach
12:00 NN - Lunch

06:30 PM - Back at North Hill Pension House/Freshen up

If you have more time, you can visit other tourist spots such as Biri Rock Formations, Capul Lighthouse and church, the old town of Catubig, Pinipisakan Falls and more.

I only had a piece of Northern Samar, there are still a lot of things to do, sights to see and unknown places to explore. I will definitely come back again soon! 'Til next time!

This is a series of blog posts on my "off-the-cuff" weekend getaway to the province of Northern Samar last July 16-17, 2011. To date, this is my 6th solo trip and the 30th province on my list.

  2. Hi Mervin,
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend a day tour around Catarman if you'll be coming from Manila. Sayang kasi pamasahe at effort hehehe. There's not much to see around Catarman kasi. The tourist spots are either in the Pacific area (towns of Catubig, Las Navas, Palapag, Mapanas), in the Balicuatro area (Allen, Victoria), or in the island towns areas (San Vicente, San Antonio, Biri). Unfortunately, kulang ang isang araw to travel to and explore these places. Saka isa pa, hindi lahat ng towns dito ay may accommodation.
