Things to Do in Nueva Vizcaya: Visit the Provincial Capitol Complex

Bayombong is the industrial center and the seat of the provincial government of Nueva Vizcaya. The elegantly landscaped provincial capitol complex is situated in an 8-hectare park that features a fountain, boating lagoon, picnic huts, a stage and sports facilities.

As mentioned in dotregion2.com.ph's website "The capitol building is a study of architectural ingenuity. It has a park with exotic plant species, concrete benches and sidewalks lighted with giant lamps and man-made lagoon ideal for rowing the colorful mini-boats operated by handicapables, also called the Luneta of the north."

The complex if perfect of family gatherings as the sorroudings is so green with a lot of trees and ornamental plants. There are also some rolling stores where you could get some snacks.

As I witnessed, by spending about half an hour in the complex (while munching on 2 pieces of Tokneneng and a cup of gulaman), it is indeed well-designed and serves as a recreation facility to the people of Nueva Vizcaya.

HOW TO GET THERE
From Manila, take an air-conditioned bus (Florida Bus Lines, Baliwag Transit, Victory Liner, etc.) bound for Cagayan Valley, it passes by the province of Nueva Vizcaya via the Maharlika hi-way and get off at the town of Bayombong. Travel time is approximately 6 hours by land from Metro Manila.

This is part of my 3-day trip to the provinces of Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino and Isabela that happened last March 2-4, 2012. Join me as I explore the cultural treasures and interesting sights of Nueva Vizcaya, the 55th province on my list!
