Pinoy Festivals : Peñafrancia Festival 2012 Schedule of Activities

The month of September would not be complete without the celebration of Bicol region's Peñafrancia Festival. Celebrated every 3rd Saturday of September in honor of Divino Rostro and Our Lady of Peñafrancia, thousands of devotees flock to Naga City, Camarines Sur to join the festivities.

One of the highlights of the festival is the "Traslacion" where the miraculous image of the Our Lady of Peñafrancia and the Divino Rostro is transferred to Naga City Metropolitan Cathedral where the novena and holy masses are held.

With the theme "Thank God for Ina, I am a Catholic Now and for Always!", here is this year's Schedule of Activities:

  2. my late father hails from naga city but i had only been to the festival once about 20 years ago. i remember walking from our place in penafrancia avenue to the market place on the bridge where i got a good view of where the Lady is placed in the pagoda on the river. i also remember walking back to the basilica without feeling tired because a lot of people are doing the same and you just go with the flow. Viva La Virgen!
