Pinoy Festivals: Bacolod MassKara Festival 2012 Street and Arena Dance Competitions winners (Barangay and School Categories)


The City of Smiles, Bacolod City once again staged a very successful Masskara Festival. The highlights happened last October 20-21, 2012 with the street and arena dance competitions for the school and barangay categories respectively. The street dance happened at Araneta Avenue, while the arena dance were performed at the City Public Plaza.


Eleven contingents from different elementary and secondary schools and 14 contingents for the barangay category battle it out to get the championship crown. Here are the winners:


BARANGAY CATEGORY

Champion: Brgy. 17, also won Best in Mask, Best in Concept and Best in Choreography winning 100,000 cash prize

1st Runner-up: Brgy. Cabug winning 75,000 cash prize

2nd Runner-up: Brgy. 6 winning P50,000 cash prize

3rd Runner-up: Brgy. 32 winning P30,000 cash Prize

4th Runner-up: Brgy. Alijis with P20,000 cash prize who also won Best in Costume


ELEMENTARY AND HIGH SCHOOL CATEGORIES

Champion:
High School: Luisa Medel National High School, also won Best in Concept and Best in Choreography
Elementary: Sum-ag Elementary School, also won Best in Concept

1st Runner-up:
High School: Luis Hervias National High Scholol who also won Best in Costume and Best in Mask
Elementary: Banago Elementary School

2nd Runner-up: 
High School: Teofilo Gensoli National High School
Elementary: Montevista Elementary School, also won Best in Choreography

3rd Runner-up:
High School:  Domingo Lacson National High School
Elementary: A.L. Jayme Elementary School, also won Best in Costume

4th Runner-up:
Elementary: Education and Training Center School (ETCS) II


Cash prizes for the high school and elementary categories are as follow:
Champion P50,000
First runner-up P30,000
Second runner-up P20,000
Third runner-up P10,000
Fourth runner-up P10,000
