KALINGA TOURIST SPOTS: The Charm of the Sleeping Beauty

One astounding sight in Tinglayan, Kalinga that you shouldn't miss is the Sleeping Beauty Mountain. Also known as Mt. Patukan, it is a mountain ridge located between the municipalities of Tanudan and Tinglayan. It is called as such because it resembles to a sleeping woman lying on its back.

It's a natural attraction that is enveloped in beauty and mystery. Legend tells that the sleeping beauty is the image of a woman who died on Mt. Patukan waiting for her husband who were caught on a tribal war. It is the same spot where the lady died which developed into what the present-day "Sleeping Beauty Mountain".

According to some locals, it would take about 10-14 hours to reach its summit. Since we only have limited time and we were not prepared for it, we didn't bother to climb it; we just enjoyed its stunning charm from the Chico River.
