The bustling city of Cebu has a lot of accommodation options to offer. Be it a high-end resort, a mid-range hotel or a backpacker's hostel, you'll definitely find one that suits your needs. At times, we travel to relax, unwind and to escape form our usual day-to-day activities. Finding an accommodation that will leave a lasting memory is quite a challenge. Good thing I found "The Henry" in Cebu City.
Formerly named "The House of Cebu", The Henry Hotel is a boutique hotel managed by Hospitality International, Inc. It is located in the heart of Cebu City, near commercial district and IT Park.
From the airport, I was fetched by the hotel's car service, and upon reaching the hotel's lobby, I must say that I was speechless when I saw how beautiful the hotel is. I was gladly welcomed by their front desk officer and assisted me with checking-in. It was a breeze, after registering and confirming my reservation, I was given the key card and was assisted to my room.
My room is located at the 6th floor. It is an "extra large room" with a floor size of 72 square meters. Quite big huh?! I was totally at awe when I entered my room. Very impressive!
It has 1 king-sized bed that's so soft and fluffy; it also has huge fluffy pillows, clean and fresh blankets and comforters that compliments it. I quickly tried it and I felt like I was melting into the bed.
Then I checked on the toilet and bath. I was speechless when I saw how spacious it is. Whoa! There's a bath tub, rain shower, water closet, a sink with a huge mirror and all the toiletries were provided. This is a haven for those who spend a lot of time in the bathroom.
In addition, the room features a variety of comforts such as an LCD TV with cable channels, DVD Player, a radio, cabinets, luggage rack, telephone, and a safe box. Super fast FREE WIFI internet access is also provided. Each room is given its own username and password to access the net. It is indeed super fast!
The design and feel of the room is minimalist. I like it so much as there's not too much clutter, only the essentials are inside the room. The color combination and the indirect lighting inside the room are impressive!
I was able to see the others rooms. The hotel has 38 rooms, 28 of which are Big rooms, 4 Large rooms, 4 Extra Large rooms and 2 Extra Extra Large room. Big Rooms are 36 square meters of individual space. It has 1 king-sized bed and a private toilet and bath. All the amenities are also included.
Large Rooms are 42 square meters of individual space. It has 1 king-sized bed, a private toilet and bath and all the basic amenities.
Extra Large Rooms is like the one I'm staying at. It is 72 square meters of individual space. All the basic amenities are there plus a private toilet and bath with a tub.
Extra Extra Large Rooms are 108 square meters of individual space. The difference of it with the Extra Large room is that, it has an extra room with 1 king-sized bed and its own private toilet and bath with a tub.
Each room is individually designed. There's really no room created the same. Each one has its own character. Funky, vibrant, unique, fabulous! I truly love it!
The hotel also has a swimming pool at the ground level. It has day beds scattered around and outdoor dining tables where you could eat while enjoying the pool.
Rica's the hotel's restaurant serves international and local cuisines. Complimentary breakfast comes with every booking. You can choose from American, European and Filipino breakfast, I got to try fried bangus with garlic rice, salad and fresh fruits. What a great way to start my day!
They also have a bar and restaurant at the 2nd floor. Scrapyard Bar is like a gallery of paintings and other stuffs made from recycled materials. Quite interesting to relax here and have some drinks at night.
The Henry Hotel is truly "like no other". Their personalized service is highly commendable. The staff are all polite, attentive, sweet and incredibly cheerful. Everyone greets you with a smile all the time. The hotel's interiors and amenities are first-class. I believe the main plus point of this hotel are the staff and their "one of a kind" rooms.
Uniqueness is what sets The Henry Hotel from the rest! I truly enjoyed my stay! This is now my favorite hotel in Cebu City and certainly my choice when I come back. Two thumbs up! I highly recommend The Henry Hotel when you visit Cebu, it will surely leave you a lasting memory.
