We woke up early on our 3rd and final day in Malaybalay City for a scheduled trek to the Bukidnon Provicial Tree Park. Located at the rear side of the provincial capitol grounds, we took a 10-minute tricycle ride to the jump-off point; fare is 8 pesos each. The tree park is a small hill also known as "Two-Tree Hill" because of the two tall trees at the top which can be seen from below. But due to the recent typhoon that passed by the city, only one tree remained at the peak.
It was an easy trek with moderate ascend reaching the summit. It took us about an hour to reach the peak which offers a stunning view of rice fields, Malaybalay City and the majestic Mt. Kitanglad and Mt. Dulang-dulang from a far.
We just spent our time taking photos and some "kulitan" until we decided to go down. I truly enjoyed the cool climate, lush green forest and the company of these travel bloggers. It was so much fun to be with these guys!
HOW TO GET THERE
Via Davao City: Take a bus bound for Cagayan de Oro City at Ecoland Integrated Bus Terminal, buses leave almost every hour. Travel time is 4-5 hours and fare is around 320 pesos (air-conditioned).
Via Cagayan de Oro City: Take bus bound for Valencia or Davao City at Agora Bus Terminal. The bus passes by Malaybalay City. Travel time is around 2-3 hours and fare is 135.00 pesos.
From Malaybalay City, you could walk or take a tricycle to the jump-off point of the Provincial Tree Park.
