Pinoy Festivals: Kadayawan Festival 2013 Indak-indak sa Kadalanan Streetdancing Photos and List of Winners

"Kadayawan sa Dabaw" is Davao City's most anticipated festival in celebration of its bountiful harvest and culture. One of the highlights is the Indak-indak sa Kadalanan performed along the major streets of Davao City. Indak-indak, which literally means stomping one's feet on the ground, is a competition of different tribes-participants showcasing choreographed dance inspired by Mindanao's indigenous traditions, legends, myths and cultural events.

It is composed of two categories, the Open Category for Mindanao-based contingents showcasing the festival in their locality; and the Davao-based Category for groups coming from Davao City who will interpret the festival, integrated in a Mindanao folklore, myth or legends.

This morning, I was able to witness for the first time Kadayawan Festival's Indak-indak sa Kadalanan here in Davao City. Here are some of the photos.

It was a superb performance by the participating tribes. Truly, Kadayawan Festival is one of the most colorful and biggest annual celebration in the whole of Davao region! Madayaw Davao!
