Habitat for Humanity Philippines Extends Help to the Victims of Typhoon Maring in Noveleta Cavite

Yesterday, I woke up early, happy and excited because of two reasons. First, it's already "BER" months and the start of the longest Christmas season in the world. Second, I am joining as a volunteer at the Disaster Response Re-Build Program of Habitat for Humanity Philippines in Noveleta Cavite. What a great way to start the Christmas season by sharing my time to my fellow CaviteΓ±os who were badly hit by habagat brought by typhoon Maring few weeks ago.

Habitat for Humanity Philippines (Habitat) is helping the affected families of the recent flooding brought by the monsoon rains in Noveleta, Cavite by way of distributing 700 cleanup kits that they can use to clean and rebuild their homes. This is the first of many cleanup and shelter repair kits distributions included in Habitat for Humanity's Disaster Response Re-Build Program that will run for the next six months.

"The cleanup kit is Habitat's way of assisting our fellowmen in their time of need," says Habitat CEO & Managing Director Charlie Ayco.

"Habitat's Disaster Response Re-Build Program - its shelter rehabilitation arm – aims not just to provide the needs of disaster stricken communities after the onslaught, but to also offer rehabilitation through Habitat's shelter repair kits as well as housing through relocation, depending on the general need of a community. It is Habitat’s goal not only to give relief to disaster victims but provide permanent solutions when it comes to shelter and helping the government reduce its housing backlog," ends Ayco.

It was tiring but certainly a fun and fulfilling experience. Thank you Habitat for Humanity Philippines for inviting me to join this activity. I'm looking forward to join again on your future projects.
