I've been hearing good reviews about Zenz Bar and Restaurant, the in-house restaurant of Mines View Park Hotel. That's why I am so delighted that the restaurant invited us for lunch on our Baguio Food Tour held last weekend. The restaurant offers Asian, Western Cuisine and continental entrées using Baguio's fresh farm produce such as crisp vegetables and freshly-picked fruits.
We sampled on Zenz Bar and Restaurant's signature dishes, Chicken Pork Adobo with strawberries and Strawberry Sinigang. Yes you heard it right, Filipino favorites with a twist by adding one of Baguio's well-known products, the strawberries. Tourists and locals visiting Baguio City often go to Zenz Restaurant for these unique dishes.
Guests can request for either pork, beef, shrimp or fish in their strawberry sinigang. It still tastes like the usual sinigang, but the strawberries add a sweet-tangy and fruity flavor to the broth. It's sweet but with still the right sourness that I'm looking for a sinigang. I love it as I enjoyed my hot serving on a cold Baguio weather.
The chicken pork adobo with strawberries is so good. I like it more than the sinigang. I love the unique taste that the strawberries added on the adobo.
We also feasted on different desserts that the restaurant offers. We had Choco Cheese Crepe, Corn Cheese Crepe and Cheese Crisp. All of them are really good!
To cap our lunch we had Berry Strawberry Crisps - strawberry ice cream with cheese crisps. Yummy!
Aside from their best-sellers, they also serve other dishes such as salads and pasta.
So if you find yourself in the vicinity of Mines View Park or on your way to Good Shepherd to buy jars of ube and strawberry jams, why not drop by Mines View Park Hotel for lunch or dinner? I'm sure, you'll also love their innovative dishes. Zenz Bar and Restaurant is located at the lobby of Mines View Park Hotel and is open from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily.
