I woke up early on my first day in Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte. Today, I'll be visiting one of my chilhood dream destinations - Dakak Beach Resort in Dapitan City! Yes, I am one of those "batang 90's" who grew up seeing that commercial of the resort in Eat Bulaga. Hahaha! Do you know that commercial too? Did you ever dream of going to Dakak when you were younger? Umamin na kayo! Hahahaha!
Located off the coast of Sulu Sea in Taguilon, Dapitan City, this sprawling beach resort is 45 minutes away from Dipolog City. How to get to Dakak Beach Resort? From Dipolog City terminal, just take a mini bus bound for Dapitan and then hire a single motorcycle (habal-habal) to get to the resort.
Almost everyone who grew up in the 90's would recognize this beach. The first thing that blew my mind upon arriving at the resort was the cleanliness of the place and how big it is. I can't imagine how everything was well-maintained. You could see the presence of the resort's staff in almost every corner, so getting help is really not a problem. Customer service is commendable, smiling faces are everywhere and they never forget to greet you.
Since I don't have all the money to spend a night in one of the resort's beautiful villas. I opted for a day tour. It costs 500 pesos inclusive of the following:
- Resort Tour
- Free use of the beach
- Free use of the Dolphin pool with slides and kiddie pool
- Snacks at Patio Ristorante Italiano
- Free in-resort shuttle
Since I haven't had my breakfast, first thing I did is to go to Patio Ristorante Italiano to avail the free snacks that comes with the entrance fee. I had pasta which I don't remember the name. Hahaha! But it was good! For some Italian fare, this is the place to go to!
Then I started to walk around and toured the place. Here are the other facilities and amenities.
When I got tired, I went to the beach and lounge at the hammock hanging in one of the trees. It was a surreal feeling of just having an "alone time", just enjoying the breathtaking view of the beach and the cool breeze of the air.
