BUROT BEACH in Calatagan Batangas, "A Nice and Secluded Beach near Metro Manila"

Burot Beach
Burot Beach

Burot beach is a remote beach located along the shores of Calatagan, Batangas. It has a stretch of semi-fine cream sand beach kissed by calm waters, beautiful rock formations and dotted with trees. As one of the nice beaches near Manila, it's a favorite beach destination among weekenders and those who seek a quick weekend getaway. It's a beach enjoyed most by people who appreciate tranquility, peace and natural beauty.

Burot Beach

Burot beach is a private property (SM Group of Companies) but is open to public for a fee. Day tour is 65.00 pesos, while overnight stay is 130.00 pesos per person. If you're bringing your own car, there's no need to worry because there's ample parking space in the area and it's free.

Camping in Burot Beach, Calatagan Batangas

During our visit (July 21, 2013), Burot beach is still undeveloped. There's no electricity, no hotels, resorts or posh accommodations, but there are makeshift cottages for day trippers to stay at. If you wish to stay overnight, you have to bring your own camping equipment. But if you don't have your own tent, there are tents available for rent at 300.00 pesos. If you need something, there's a small sari-sari store where you could buy your basic needs. Still, it is recommended that you bring everything you need if you plan to stay overnight.

Lovely Burot Beach, Calatagan

The heat was unbearable when we arrived at the beach. So we decided to stay first in one of the cottages to rest. After about 30 minutes, we roamed around the property. There are a lot to see at each sides of the beach. Burot beach is lovely! Its raw and rugged charm is truly inviting.

Rock Formations - Burot Beach, Batangas

We started to check on the east side where rock formations can be seen. Ang ganda!!! This is my favorite part of Burot beach.

This area is uncrowded. I like it as it makes an ideal place to have some quiet time, to unwind, slow down and re-connect with nature.

At the back of the rock formations is a more secluded beach. It's equally beautiful! If I were to stay overnight, I would love to set-up my tent here.

On the west side of the beach is where you'll find a pile of rocks with small trees which somehow separate Burot Beach to the other beach on that side. This is also where you could see boats passing by. Be cautious when you're swimming on this side of the beach as the calm water goes crazy every time a boat passes by. Hahaha!

We did nothing the whole time we were in Burot Beach. We just enjoyed swimming, taking photos, people-watching and beach bumming.

As Batangas is facing west, it's a perfect spot to enjoy some remarkable sunsets. I wish we had more time to spend and wait as the sun sets, but we have to get going. At around 2:00 PM, we decided to leave as we still need to get to our next destination - CAPE SANTIAGO! <-- click on this link to read the full story on our visit to the lighthouse

Burot Beach, Calatagan Batangas

Overall, Burot Beach is a nice beach near Manila for a quick weekend getaway. It may not be as unspoiled and pristine as Dahican Beach in Mati, Anguib Beach in Cagayan or Kalanggaman Island in Leyte, but I would love to go back here for an overnight beach camping! Taralets?!

  • Bring all you need.
  • Wear a pair of aqua shoes, there are occasional sightings of sea urchins on the beach.

  • Comfort rooms are available, but don't expect too much, its very basic for basic needs.
  • Be sure to get the mobile number of your tricycle driver or ask them to fetch you.

So nagcheck kame ng iba pang beach then I've read this page nga. So lumipat kame kahit na malayo kasi gusto namin peaceful and konti ang tao at syempre unspoiled..

    Positive feedback :
    - madaming puno
    - magandang rock formations
    - may tindahan
    - walang bayad ang tables
    - konti ang tao
    - maganda ang beach, pag malayo
    - maluwag ang lugar
    - may starfish!
    - perfect and sunset view

    Negative feedback :

    - madaming basura
    - madaming jellyfish
    - madaming matitinik na halaman na nakakalat
    - walang ice for sale!

All in all, kung trip niyo sa beach ang magluto, maginom, magrelax, mag camping. You'll probably enjoy this place. Pero kung gusto niyo magswimming, magbabad sa tubig, maglaro, this one is not for you. Masyado kalmado ang dagat at walang waves.

  16. Overrated na ang Burot beach. Maybe 3-5 years ago, it may have been worth the effort to go there. But now, especially during the summer months and weekends, positive feedback lang na nakita ko ay ang 60 or 130 pesos na entrance fee. And even that, i wouldn't travel 4 hours to pay that cheap and get stressed. Ilan lang ang comfort rooms, i didn't expect too much, pero it was worst than those belonging to bus terminals sa probinsya. Nagkalat ang tae sa floor. Ang haba ng pila sa liguan. May mga tables nga, pero iilan lang, 10 is to 1 yata ratio(u get what i mean), so unless 3AM nandun ka na, malamang wala kang makukuha.
I'm not really expecting total peace and quite, pero ibang level to, parang palengke.
Or any other private resort na may bayad kahit medyo mataas ng konti. Kasi, you get what you pay for dito.
    You've been warned :)

  19. Natawa naman ako sa comments dito. Nung una na-excite ako. Syempre nakita ko yung perfect view of the beach including the sunset and this peaceful ambiance. But then, may mga negative comments na nakakapanghina ng buto. Hahaha. Siguro, I maybe ask nalang kung worth it pa ang Burot beach this month?
