Kadayawan Festival Davao City

Are you ready for this year's celebration of Kadayawan Festival? "Kadayawan sa Dabaw" is Davao City's most anticipated festival in celebration of life, culture and a thanksgiving for the bountiful harvest. Held annually on the third week of August, Kadayawan Festival 2014 is the biggest celebration in the whole of Davao region. It also happens together with the harvest season of local produce and the blooming of many flowers. Madayaw Davao!

Kadayawan Festival Davao City

Kadayawan 2014 is a month long celebration; basing on previous celebrations the highlights of the festival will fall on August 16 and 17, 2014 with Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan (Street Dancing) and Pamulak sa Kadalanan (Floral Float Parade) respectively. Be sure to save the dates of the festival and plan your trip ahead.

August 16, 2014 (Saturday)
Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan - Indak-indak, which literally means stomping one's feet on the ground, is a competition of different tribes-participants showcasing choreographed dance inspired by Mindanao's indigenous traditions, legends, myths and cultural events.

August 17, 2014 (Sunday)
Pamulak Kadayawan - a float parade featuring Davao Region's flowers and fruits.

How to Get to Davao City


By Air
The fastest way to reach Davao City is by plane. Davao City, being one of the most urbanized cities in Mindanao, it can be reached on affordable flights from Manila and other key cities in the country such as Cebu and Zamboanga, among many others. Major local airlines have several flights daily to Davao City making it one of the most accessible cities in the country.

By Land and Sea
Davao City can also be reached by land and sea from Manila via bus and RORO. You may check with Philtranco Bus Company for the schedule of trips.
