How to Earn Miles for Free Travel

The United MileagePlus® Explorer Card offer makes it easy for travelers to take advantage of an array of benefits and features. It is the ideal card for frequent travelers as it rewards them with bonus miles, access to the United Club VIP lounge, priority boarding, free checked bags, access to the Luxury Hotels and Resorts collection, no foreign transaction fees, introductory bonus reward miles offers, unrestricted access to rewards seats on points redemption, double miles on flights booked with United and much more. 



When cardholders book and pay for their United Airlines flights direct with the United MileagePlus® Explorer Card, they will earn two points for every dollar they spend on their flights. There is no limit to the amount of rewards points they can earn per year. Chase United Explorer points can accumulate quickly when cardholders use the card for everyday purchases. Daily purchases such as meals, gas, car rentals and hotel stays earn one point per dollar spent. Cardholders will enjoy having access to the exclusive Luxury Hotel and Resort Collection.

The United MileagePlus® Explorer Card entitles them to a complimentary room upgrade, early check-in, late checkout and complimentary breakfast for two at over 700 luxury hotels and resorts worldwide. These benefits are worth hundreds of dollars per trip. To receive these benefits reservations must be made through a Luxury Hotels and Resorts Collection travel specialist or through their website. After three months, cardholders receive a bonus of 30,000 miles just for spending $1,000 on the card. That will give them enough miles to travel round trip almost anywhere in the country free of charge.

Reward miles will be credited to the card members MileagePlus account within a few weeks of qualifying for the bonus point offer. If an authorized user is added to the card during the first three months, members receive 5,000 bonus miles in their accounts as long as the authorized user makes one purchase. When cardholders are traveling outside of the United States, they don't have to worry about paying a foreign transaction fee with the United Explorer credit card. Most of the other rewards credit cards charge a fee of 3 percent for purchases made in a different currency.

One of the really nice benefits of having the Chase United miles card as covered by milecards.com, is that it allows card members to check a bag free of charge every time they book and pay for travel with United Airlines on their card and they include their United Mileage Plus number on the reservation. The benefit also extends to one traveling companion as long as they are booked under the same reservation. The fee per person per checked bag round trip is $50, so this benefit saves the card member a lot of money; especially if they travel frequently.



Card members receive two free passes every year for the United Club VIP lounge. In the lounge, they can enjoy free snacks and beverages while using the complimentary Wi-Fi to finish up business before boarding flights. There are even private meeting rooms and work spaces for business travelers in the VIP lounge.



They can always take advantage of priority boarding on flights with United as long as they book and pay for them with their Chase United Explorer credit card. The priority boarding benefit extends to a traveling companion as long as they are on the same reservation as the cardholder. They can avoid the long line up of passengers waiting to board the plane and settle into their seats sooner. Since cardholders are among the first passengers to board the plane, they will always have room to stow their carry-on bag above their seats! 



There are many ways to redeem United MileagePlus Miles. Reward miles can be redeemed for tickets on United Airlines operated flights anywhere members fly when they redeem them at the MileagePlus Standard Award level. With no restrictions, no blackout dates and no limitations, card members can book any seat, anytime as long as it is available. All they have to do is give their MileagePlus number at the start of the reward booking process. Cardholders never have to worry about redeeming rewards points within a set time frame as the points never expire as long as they remain active card members.

If cardholders spend in excess of $25,000 during a calendar year, they will earn an incredible bonus of 10,000 bonus miles. The bonus points are in excess of the points they earn on their daily purchases and the double points they earn when they book and pay for travel with United Airlines.

With all the perks the United MileagePlus® Explorer Card offers, it is hard to believe that the $95 annual fee is waived for the first year. After the first year, the value of the benefits and free travel miles earned with daily purchases more than cover the cost of the low annual fee.
