I felt like a was on a beach resort or an island when we entered Blackbeard's Seafood Island Northshore Grill. The chic restaurant features an easy-going atmosphere like that of a beach - native and colorful decors, waiters wearing short pants and cool blue shirts, surfboards hanging on the walls and the resort-like ambiance of the restaurant are just some of the things you wouldn't miss. Urggghhhh! It makes me reminisce the island adventure we had in Kalanggaman island last year.
Last week, I was fortunate to try Blackbeard's Seafood Island located at SM by the Bay at the back of SM Mall of Asia. While waiting for our meal, we were served with Pinoy Nachos for appetizer. Yummmm! What a great way to start.
After about a few minutes, the main course was served. My eyes dropped when I saw this huge plate called Dagupan's Pride. It is an array of different mouthwatering dishes served on banana leaves. It includes deep fried boneless bangus, pork bbq, steamed white shrimps, grilled tahong, grilled eggplant, okra, talbos ng kamote, fresh greem mangoes, crispy liempo and bagoong rice.
I like the Boodle feast concept of Blackbeard's Seafood Island where every serving is good for 3 to 4 persons. The servings are more than enough and you get to try different dishes in one big meal. Food like these are best enjoyed with friends and families. The generous serving and the diverse dishes are certainly a topic for a long conversation.
The restaurant also serves other boodle options wittingly named as Magellan's Landing, Panlasang Pinoy, Fiesta Bicolandia, Tali Beach, Palawan Shores, Dapitan's Pride and Boracay Feast. It's like traveling around the Philippine with your palate with each "Boodle Feast" showcasing different seafood dishes that you will really love. How much? It costs around 700 to 900 pesos for a boodle feast good for 3-4 persons and 1,000 to 1,300 pesos for a boodle feast good for 5-6 persons. Quite cheap huh! Dividing the bill among your group, you really wouldn't be spending that much.
To keep the beach feel, we had a refreshing ice tea for our drinks.
Overall, we enjoyed our early dinner at Seafood Islands in Mall of Asia. I love the idea of eating on a banana leaf and just get whatever food you want or what's still available at your table. It makes me feel like I was transported on an island or a beach resort enjoying the sound of the waves and the cool breeze of the air! Hahaha!
The staff are nice, courteous and attentive. The quality and taste of food is good. The restaurant's ambiance is cool and conducive for long dining experience with family and friends. It was certainly a fun and memorable Seafood Island experience! We had a great time!
