AFFORDABLE PLACE TO STAY IN BALER: Jamjen's Lodge in Sabang Beach

When I traveled solo to Baler in 2011, I stayed for 3 nights at Jamjen's Lodge in Sabang Beach. They were just starting then with only 3 rooms available for rent. I was just a walk-in guest with no prior reservation. Luckily, they were not fully booked back then and they were able to accommodate me. I took a fan room which is good for 2 persons and costs 600 pesos per night, but I was able to get it for only 500 pesos per night.

I wrote about them because I really enjoyed my stay and I love how accommodating the owners, Kuya Marlon and Ate Marivic were. They are like a family to me, I could still remember how they took care of me during my trip to Baler.

Fast forward to 2014... Since Jamjen's Lodge is one of the nicest and most affordable resorts with pool in Baler that is near Sabang Beach, I contacted them again for our Baler trip last September 15-17, 2014 to reserve a room for 2 nights. I am really not expecting anything in return for promoting their lodge on my blog, but to my surprise, they gave me free accommodation for 2 nights. Ate Marivic and Kuya Marlon told me that they were really happy for all the help I have extended to them. Through the years, I haven't talked to them and I was clueless that I have helped them grow their business.

When we arrived at Jamjen's Lodge, I was at awe when I saw how the lodge has changed. From just having 3 small rooms, they now have 8 nice rooms of which the 5 other rooms are so big that it could accommodate up to 8 persons. They are also about to start building 6 more rooms! WOW! I am really delighted to know how their simple lodge had grown!

Jamjen's Lodge has several rooms that could cater to small and big groups. Room rates start at 1,000 pesos (non-aircon room) to as much as 4,000 pesos per night. The rooms have all the much needed amenities such as air-conditioning unit, en suite toilet and bath with hot and cold shower, television set with cable channels, luggage rack and complimentary use of bath towels are also included. Their bed is new and comfortable and has clean sheets, blankets and pillows. All rooms have its own balcony with chairs and table where you could lounge after a day of surfing or just to sip a good cup of coffee.

Other amenities and services include free WIFI access, a mini store, board rentals, surfing lessons and tour packages to the different tourist spots and attractions in Baler. Food establishments and sari-sari stores are also a stone's throw away from the lodge, so you won't have to worry if you need to buy any of your basic necessities.

What I like most about Jamjen's Lodge is its location. It is along or near Sabang Beach where the surfing site is. I also love how the owners are hands-on in taking care of their guests. They are truly exceptional!

So, if you're looking for nice, safe and affordable place to stay near Sabang Beach in Baler, Aurora, I highly recommend JamJen's Lodge!
