WHERE TO EAT IN ANGELES CITY, PAMPANGA: Jack Fritos Restaurant

Jack Fritos is a newly-opened casual dining restaurant in Angeles City, Pampanga offering mouthwatering Western, Korean and Japanese dishes. The restaurant is known to be one of the best in chicken, hamburger and grilled dishes paired with their mix of special sauces made from special herbs and spices. Their other dishes such as chicken, pork and beef were cooked to perfection and has that great tenderness, juiciness and distinct taste that everyone is craving for.

Opened in July 19, 2014, they are located along Don Juico Ave., Angeles City, just across SM City Clark. Finding it is not a problem as it is located on a street near other restaurants as well as hotels and entertainment establishments in Angeles City.

Just last weekend, I was invited by Jack Fritos to try their signature dishes. Upon researching about them, I learned that many of those who've tried their food are craving for it. Hmmmm.... Interesting! So without thinking twice, I scheduled a trip to Angeles City with my friend. I guess, we need to taste the dishes Jack Fritos offers and know what's about the "buzz" it has been creating since it opened just 3 months ago. I hope, I won't be disappointed.

Upon arrival at the restaurant, I was instantly impressed with the hip and stylish structure and the industrial ambiance of its interiors. Not to be missed as well is the al-fresco dining area outside which exudes a more relaxed dining experience perfect for group of friends having a good time over some bottles of beer.

Here are the dishes that we got to try:

Jack Fritos Cheddar Poutine (PHP 175.00)

This is made from freshly cut french fries topped with their in-house beef gravy and cheddar cheese sauce. They told us that they only use fresh potatoes and not the frozen ones that you can buy from the supermarket. Well, it's true! Their french fries are made from freshly-bought, freshly cut and fried potatoes! You can really taste its freshness when you compared it from the french fries served in the fast food chains. I truly love it!

Potato Chips (PHP 95.00)

Served on a basket, these are thinly sliced fresh potatoes deep fried to a perfect crisp. It is then seasoned with just the right amount of salt and pepper to add taste. It is served hot and very crispy and is best paired with any of Jack Fritos' sumptuous dishes.

Jack Fritos Classic Burger (PHP 225.00)

Made from 100% pure patty (it is indeed pure beef!) grilled to perfection. It is then layered with slices of fresh tomatoes, caramelized onions, cheese, lettuce and generously drizzled with thyme mayo and ketchup. This is one of our favorites! The smokey flavor, grilled taste and the juiciness of the beef patty is to die for! Don't leave Jack Fritos without trying this! I bet, you'll also love it!

JapChae (PHP 295.00)

This is a Korean dish made from sweet potato starch noodles stir fried in sesame oil and mixed with beef, carrots, Chinese chives, onions, paprika and sweet soy-based sauce. This is the first time I've tasted this dish and I instantly fell in love with it! The texture of the noodles is so good and the sweet taste of the sauce balances it all.

Classic Whole Fried Chicken (PHP 550.00)

This is one of their signature dishes. Fresh whole chicken seasoned with soy and salt and then deep fried to achieve the golden crisp skin while maintaining the tender and juicy chicken meat. It is served with fresh fried potatoes and a sauce of your choice on the side. You can either choose Chicken gravy or Spicy Kyusu as your sauce. I suggest you request for both. Either of the two sauces is a perfect match to the already delicious fried chicken.

Beef Mustard Salad (PHP 285.00)

Made from fresh crisp romaine iceberg and green ice lettuce, cherry tomatoes and slices of fresh cucumber tossed in honey mustard dressing and then topped with grilled shortplate beef strips. This one is also one of my favorites! I love the smokey grilled taste of the beef on top. It's tender and very juicy. The honey mustard dressing perfectly complements the whole dish. This is really a must-try!

Grilled Pork Belly

Freshly grilled and tender pork belly with Teriyaki flavor. Nothing so special about it but it is very tasty and flavorful!

Original Fried Chicken
(12 pieces - PHP 580.00 / 6 pieces - PHP 360.00)

Deep fried chicken cutlets coated in a special breading infused with special herbs and spices. It is crispy and yet very tender and juicy inside. Served with freshly fried potato chips, latte (creamy soy-flavored) sauce, chicken gravy and Korean radish pickles, the kids and adults alike with love their fried chicken.

Spicy Fried Chicken
(12 pieces - PHP 580.00 / 6 pieces - PHP 360.00)

A fusion of American and Asian cuisines, the original fried chicken was coated with their special mix of sweet and spicy sauce. The slightly sweet sauce is made from corn syrup and mixed with chili paste, hot sauce and chili flakes. I love the perfect chili flavor of this one! Highly recommended for those who love their fried chicken with an extra kick!

Honey Garlic Fried Chicken
(12 pieces - PHP 580.00 / 6 pieces - PHP 360.00)

The original fried chicken coated with honey garlic sauce. It's a perfect blend of soy, honey and toasted garlic that kids and adults will love.

Curry Fried Chicken
(12 pieces - PHP 580.00 / 6 pieces - PHP 360.00)

Original fried chicken poured with their special curry sauce, a delectable concoction of Indian and Japanese curry. Of all the variations of their original chicken, this one is also one of my favorites.

Bottomless House-blend Ice Tea (PHP 85.00)

Jack Fritos' special ice tea mix with a distinct lemon flavor using fresh lemon fruit.

Mango Shake (PHP 110.00)

Made from mango purée and a lot of cream. It's very creamy, the kids will surely love it!

Banana Caramel (PHP 105.00)

For dessert, we had their version of Banana Caramel made from deep-fried semi-ripe saba and poured with caramel sauce. This is so yummy!!! A great way to end our Jack Fritos food adventure!

They also serve other dishes like the Korean favorites such as BiBimBap, JapChae Bap, and Japanese favorites such as the Ebi Tempura, Tonkatsu, Curry Katsu, Gyudon and Katsudon. They also have budget set meals such as the Fried Chicken Rice meal and the Hamburger Steak Meal.

They are open daily (except Monday) from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM - 4:00 AM. Parking is not a problem as they have a spacious parking area at the back of the restaurant. Free WIFI access inside the restaurant and free shuttle service within Angeles City is available. For inquiries and FREE delivery just call or text 0915-3887000 / 0939-8947000. Aside from the mango shake which lacks the mango flavor I'm looking for, I love all the dishes that we got to try. Overall, our lunch at Jack Fritos is something I could personally say that is truly worth traveling for in Angeles City. I am totally satisfied!

The place is so nice and exudes a relaxing ambiance that will surely make any dining experience truly memorable. The staff are pleasant, polite and very attentive to the needs of the customers. Their dishes are presented well and uses high quality ingredients which is evident in its scrumptious taste. They might be a bit pricey, but I must say, you'll certainly get what your money is worth or even more!

So if you're looking for a restaurant in Angeles City to hangout and enjoy really good food, dine at Jack Fritos! I'll definitely dine here again when I visit Angeles City one of these days.
