After its successful opening in the Philippines last August 2014, Teddy’s Bigger Burgers, "Hawaii's top burger joint" have been working hard to provide Filipinos a taste of Teddy’s and what makes it a cut above the rest. They boasts in focusing on high quality burgers, where every single patty is treated like the very first patty they've ever cooked. Hmmmm.... Quite interesting!
What’s in a Teddy’s Bigger Burger?
According to Bigger Burgers Philippines Executive Chef Kirsten Habawel, "Teddy’s Bigger Burger' patty is made from 100% corn-fed U.S. Black Angus ground chuck, shipped regularly from the US from the same supplier of Teddy’s Hawaii, with no binders or fillers.” “All patties are hand-pattied daily, with the special seasoning of Ted and Rich, and always charbroiled to order.”Last month, me and my friend dropped by Teddy's Bigger Burgers in Greenbelt 3 to have a taste of what they call "Hawaii’s Best Burger." Hearing a lot of good reviews about it, we were quite excited to have a taste of their special burgers that are made from 100% premium US ground chuck with no binders or fillers, topped with a signature "super sauce" and encased in a golden potato bun. Dun pa lang, busog na ako! Hehehe!
The restaurant is quite big with enough seating capacity inside and outside the store for that al fresco dining experience. On their menu are quite a number of burgers which comes in three sizes: big (50z), bigger (7oz) and biggest (9oz), a selection of side dishes and an array of refreshing drinks to choose from.
Here are the burgers and side dishes that we got to try:
Teddy's Original Burger
This classic burger is made from handmade patty which is 80% lean meat and 20% fat and then added with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles and a tangy "special sauce." Though very basic, it is packed with flavors and with a unique taste - not the fast food type of burger.Teddy's Pastrami Swiss Burger
An awesome take on the classic burger by adding Swiss cheese and pepper crusted pastrami. The patty is so juicy and have that distinct smokey and grilled flavor. It's so devilishly delicious!Teddy's Hawaii Kai Burger
If you want to be more adventurous, try this one. It has cheese, onions, lettuce, tangy special special sauce and peanut butter. Get ready for the bursting of flavors in your mouth! This is definitely a must-try!To complement the burgers, Teddy’s sides include extra crispy fries and tots with a variety of sauces (cheese and garlic butter), and beer-battered onion rings. We got to try their classic crispy fries, onion rings and tater tots. The crispy bite-size potato tots is my favorite!
Teddy’s is also known for super thick milk shakes, in flavors such as chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, peanut butter, rootbeer, dreamsicle and pineapple. They take pride on their shakes which are made from 90% ice cream and 10% milk. Unfortunately, they are not available during our visit, so we just settled for iced tea and lemonade.
OTHER DISHES ON THEIR MENU
Overall, we had an awesome lunch at Teddy's Bigger Burgers. The place is cozy and exudes a Hawaiian/surfer feel. The staff are polite, attentive and well informed about their products. I definitely love the burgers we had and we're certainly coming back to try for more.
