Honestly, I really didn't know that such a lovely boutique hotel exists in Manila. Not until last January during the Papal Visit when I passed by Bocobo St., in Malate that I saw this very stylish hotel. From the outside, I knew that Amelie Hotel Manila is not just an ordinary hotel. Later on, I learned that it is a boutique hotel, which made me more excited! I said to myself, "one day, I'll be able to experience Amelie Hotel!"
Located in the old bohemian district of Malate Manila, Amelie Hotel's (Check room rates online) prime location is conveniently located just 5-minutes walk to the world-renowned Manila Bay and it is near business, commercial and entertainment establishments. Shopping mall such as Robinsons Place Manila, food chains, restaurants, supermarket, convenience stores and other business establishments are just a few meters away.
From the moment I stepped inside the hotel, I was totally impressed with its lovely and upscale interiors. The lobby has that classy and chic look that is so perfect for the hotel's "Old Manila" theme.
We proceeded to the reception area where we were warmly greeted by their lovely staff and assisted us with our reservation. After filling-up the registration form, presenting our identification cards and giving the incidental deposit of 1,000 pesos, we were given our room's electronic key cards. I must say that checking-in was fast and efficient, it only took about 7 minutes and we were ushered to our room.
The elevator has an added security which only allows guests to access the floor where their room is located; as well access to the common areas such as the roof deck on the 12th floor and the lobby. This is a very nice security measure that assures every guests that only registered guests can access the hotel.
Upon entering our room, I could certainly feel and smell its freshness and cleanliness. What I like most is that our room is well-kept and organized. It is professionally designed in modern minimalist style with chic furniture, art deco inspired accents and framed photographs representing the fascinating facets of Manila's culture. With proper and adequate lighting, the room gives an engaging feel perfect for a comfortable and relaxing sleep.
Our Room: Deluxe Room 2
Our room is a well-appointed deluxe room 2 (Check room rates online) with two queen-sized beds. It is coupled with high-quality and fresh white sheets, hotel-quality comforters and very fluffy pillows. I quickly tried it and it was so comfy and my back certainly loves it!Our room is also equipped with the much needed amenities such as a centralized air-conditioning, work desk with lamp, a telephone, television set with cable channels, a built-in closet, mirror, an electronic safe, coffee and tea makers and a mini refrigerator with complimentary bottled water.
I then checked on the toilet and bath. Amazing! It is spacious and looks very clean! It has a shower enclosure with hot and cold shower (with rain head shower feature) and complete with high-quality toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, bath soap, body lotion, bath gel, shaving and dental care kits.
Other bathroom amenities such as hair dryer and bidet were also installed. The body, hand and face towels all smell fresh! I am truly impressed! For me, it is very important to have a bathroom that is spacious, clean, well lit and organized. Amelie Hotel Manila did not disappoint me; from the shower enclosure, to the sink, to the water closet, they are all clean.
With this kind of room amenities, I am definitely sure that every guest will have a comfortable and relaxing stay at Amelie Hotel Manila!
