Recently, I was invited by Duty Free Philippines (DFP) as they announced the major renovations made at their Departure and Arrival area stores in the newly rehabilitated Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 in Pasay City. The same goes with their stores located at the Arrival and Departure areas of NAIA Terminal 3 catering to the increase in passenger traffic due to the relocation of major airlines such as Delta, KLM Royal Dutch, Emirates, Singapore Air and Cathay Pacific.
A totally different look, but the same shopping experience, only so much better!
Duty Free Philippines, "the country's only tax and duty free travel retailer," commissioned the services of world-renowned design team Sounda Design Inc. which is based in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Their team was led by the brilliant French tandem of Architect Frederic Chevassus and designer Philippe Larosse who worked hard in redesigning DFP's stores to achieve a more attractive, dynamic and functional retail environment to cater to the discriminating taste of its shoppers, made up of international travelers, tourists and balikbayans. We were able to see it as we explore the Departure and Arrival area stores of Duty Free Philippines in NAIA Terminal 3. The major renovations made are evident with the stores' elegant and more functional design - especially at the Perfumes, Cosmetics and Fashion areas. These renovations were made keep pace with the dynamism and sophistication of the international travel retail industry.
Amazing deals and a wide selection of items
Showcasing a store with cutting-edge design, state-of-the-art interiors and amenities, DFP also brings together an impressive selection of the world's best travel retail brands that cater to the discriminating tastes of international travelers.International cosmetics and top of the line fashion brands such as Calvin Klein, Estee Lauder, Lancome, Bulgari, Christian Dior, Clinique, Clarins, L’Occitane, La Prairie, SK-II and Lacoste were present at the stores and are expected to entice both new and loyal customers to come in.
A favorite pasalubong for kids, the new stores also house the usual best-selling brands of chocolates; such as Cadbury, Hershey’s, M&M’s, Toblerone and Nestle. Not to be missed are Duty Free Philippine’s signature pasalubong packs of assorted chocolates which are certainly one of the best-sellers for balikbayans!
It also houses staple duty free merchandise of liquors and spirits such as Johnnie Walker, Chivas Regal, Jack Daniels, Hennessy, Ballantines, Remy Martin and Macallan that will truly make an awesome gift from any balikbayan for that much-awaited welcome party. Of course, clothes and fashion accessories were also present with designer brands such as Michael Kors, Kiehl’s, Anne Klein, Skagen, Cerruti, Armani, Coach, Salvatore Ferragamo, Longchamp, and Chloe, together with many other international brands. Also expected to join other well-known brands is the trendy and high quality jewelry brand, Pandora, which is set to open soon.

Are you a frequent traveler? Did you know that you could shop before departure and claim the items upon return? Duty Free Philippines' Travelite Program gives travelers the convenience of shopping at the DFP shops located at the departure area with the "shop-now-pick-up-later" scheme. Not only that, you can also get a 7% discount on your purchases (selected items) when you avail your Travelite privileges. How cool it that?!With the Travelite Program, you don't just get discounts, but you also get to load off some weight in your usual baggage on your trip back home!
