Being a kid of the 80's, I grew up enjoying Magnolia Ice Cream. Who would ever forget their famous line of Magnolia "Flavor of the Month" ice cream? Oh well, those are my favorites! I always get excited whenever my mom would bring home the new magnolia ice cream flavor out in the market.
As I travel around the Philippines, trying the best food that the place offers has always been part of my itinerary. Be it a local delicacy, a fruit, or a dessert, I always make sure that I get the best of my trip by tasting the best flavors that each place has to offer.
Our favorite Filipino flavors are already in Magnolia Ice Cream - Best of the Philippines collection. This ice cream line promotes various provinces in the Philippines and their native food products through the different delectable ice cream flavors. Magnolia puts an interesting twist to the local delicacies, desserts and fruits from the provinces to this collection of sumptuous ice cream flavors that we often bring home as pasalubong to our families, friends and loved ones.
Here are the flavors I got to try.
Ube Keso
Baguio's Good Shepherd Ube has been a favorite pasalubong when visiting the "City of Pines." How about make it as an ice cream with a twist of cheese? It tastes heavenly delicious! I am not a fan of ube ice cream, but this one is really good! Hindi nakaka-umay!Macapuno Langka
Laguna's macapuno made luscious with langka bits. Upon opening the tub, I already smelled the delicious aroma of the macapunao and langka. Every scoop has langka bits which perfectly matches the macapuno. I love it!Mangoes and Cream
The famous sweet mangoes of Guimaras made into a luscious ice cream! Blended in rich vanilla ice cream, you can actually eat chunks (take note, not bits!) of mangoes in the ice cream! This is definitely my favorite!Sili Con Chocolate
Dark chocolate ice cream made from delicious tablea bits from Batangas swirled by chili fudge. The chocolate has a bittersweet taste which I like. Plus the added kick from the chili fudge makes it a very unique ice flavor that you must try. Now, the famous Sili ice cream of Albay can now be tasted through the Magnolia Best of the Philippines ice cream collection.Cashew Sans Rival
Featuring the Sans Rival of Dumaguete and Cashew Nuts of Palawan, Magnolia Best of the Philippines' Cashew San Rival ice cream is made with Sans rival bits in butter-vanilla base ice cream rippled with cashew fudge. I love its rich buttery taste and the generous cashew nuts. Yummy! If you love the cake, you'll certainly love this too!Mango and Mangosteen
Highlighting Mangoes from Guimaras and Mangosteen from Davao, Mango and Mangosteen Best of the Philippines Ice Cream is made with luscious mango base ice cream with mango bits and swirled with mangosteen fudge. What a heavenly combination! If you go to the groceries, it won't be difficult to spot these Magnolia Ice Cream "Best of the Philippines" flavors. They come in colorful tubs that feature tourist spots, attractions, festivals and products of the province or region it represents.
