Nowadays, online shopping is one of the most convenient ways of shopping. Be it a plane ticket, a new gadget, a pair of hiking shoes, or some travel essentials, there's an online store that would cater to your needs. The advancement of technology made it possible for us to to enjoy the convenience of online shopping which allows shoppers to save time and energy instead of traveling to a physical store, browsing for items and lining up for payment.
One important thing you need when shopping online is a credit card. But getting a credit card is not easy for everyone because of the paper works and requirements you need to process. Good thing there's now PayMaya!
Unveiled last August 24, the PayMaya is the newest breakthrough from Voyager Innovations and Smart e-Money. I was invited to the exclusive sneak peek of the PayMaya app during its preview held at Vyne Tapas Bar & Restaurant in Bonifacio Global City.
What is PayMaya?
Dubbed an "instant virtual VISA," PayMaya allows you to shop online in any store that accepts PayMaya or VISA. It's both a virtual card and a physical VISA card can be used to shop online and offline. With the PayMaya app, anyone can now get their own instant virtual VISA card number that can be used to shop online without a credit card. It's a re-loadable Visa credit card that works like a debit card. All you need to do is to apply for the card (more info soon on how to get a card) and download the FREE PayMaya App on your smartphone via the Apple Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Signup with you mobile number and activate your card! As easy as that! Now, you can enjoy online shopping!
As added features, your physical PayMaya Card also works as a Beep Card which you can be used in riding the LRT or the MRT. You can also buy Smart eLoads with discounts, send money to another PayMaya account holder or Pay Bills in the future! Yey!
How to Re-load?
There are several ways you can reload or "top up" your PayMaya Card. You can ask a friend to top up your PayMaya through his/her existing SMART Money account. Or you can top up at any SMART Padala Center with 30,000 branches nationwide, and at participating banks and convenience stores. Just ask the counter to top up your PayMaya account!Soon, reloading can also be done via SM and Robinson’s Business Center, 7-Eleven, MiniStop, Smart Padala Center and trough ATM online banking services.
My PayMaya Experience
I'm one of the very first to have the PayMaya Card which was pre-loaded and I am currently testing it how it works. Last Tuesday, I tried to use it as a debit card in shopping at SM Department Store. After the saleslady swiped my card, I received a text message and an in-app confirmation of the Payment. How cool is that?!I've also tested my Payamaya Card on purchasing online. And it works! :)
More exciting news about PayMaya are coming up as it will be formally launch sometime this year! I'm so excited for more features and capabilities of my PayMaya Card!

ReplyDeleteYou can order a physical card through their website, but you have to have wait about 2 weeks(depending on delivery location), and also a payment of 100 pesos upon delivery. And then you can download the PayMaya app for android or ios then you can activate your via app. Another option is to activate your card via SMS(the full procedure is also in their website)
