There are several lovely and uncrowded beaches in Romblon; one of them is Talipasak Beach where San Pedro Beach Resort is located. It is a quiet and secluded private beach resort in Barangay Ginablan, Romblon Romblon. Located at 13 kilometers or about 30-45 minutes away from downtown Romblon, you have to hire a tricycle to get here. What I love about Talipasak Beach are its white sandy beachfront with clear turquoise waters and an amazing view of Tablas Island. It is a perfect hideaway if you wish to go swimming, snorkeling and sun bathing away from the usual crowd.

The unspoiled beach of San Pedro Beach Resort is so lovely and pristine! It has fine white sandy beach that is soft to the feet. One of the most striking features of Talipasak Beach are the towering stone walls teeming with lush greens on both sides of the beach that forms the lovely cove of the beach resort. The water is clear and calm, ideal for swimming and snorkeling.

During our stay at San Pedro Beach Resort, we got to meet the very accommodating owner, Ms. Mina Mingowa who is a local of Romblon and a retired school teacher. Through our short chat while we were having dinner, we learned that the beach resort is used to be just a family resort until they opened it to the public several years ago. As she's getting old, she now resides in Manila for easier access to hospitals and medications. She just visits the resort once in a while. We were lucky that we chanced upon her.

Nipa Hut Cottages

Being a private resort, it is complete with nipa hut cottages that cater to guests who wish to stay overnight. Their native style room accommodations are located on a small hill overlooking the beach and surrounded with tall trees which make it more appealing to guests.

The room is very basic. It has 2 single beds with foam, pillows and blankets, a toilet and bath, electric fan and a cabinet. What I love most about their nipa hut cottages is the veranda overlooking the sea. This is where we spent most of our time just lounging on the chairs, enjoying the surroundings and the cool breeze coming from the sea.

Restaurant

They also have a restaurant which serves affordable and delicious meals for breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. Meals are very affordable at 120 to 200 pesos per dish.

Breakfast is not included in the room rates, but they offer hearty breakfast meals for around 120 pesos each. We got to try their bacon and longganisa meals served with rice or bread, juice and coffee. They were good!

For dinner, we had sweet and sour fish, grilled chicken and chopsuey. Since the choices are limited, it is advisable to order in advance. They only cook the meals upon ordering, so it would be better if you let them know what time you'll have your dinner so they'll can cook it in advance.

Published Room Rates

Room rate is 800.00 pesos per night as of February 2016. For inquiries and reservations, you may call Ms. Mina at 0928-2730515. They offer 8 nipa hut cottages that cater to the accommodation need of its valued guests. Standard check-in time is at 2:00 PM and check-out time is 12:00 NN. But they also allow early check-in if the room is not occupied. Since they only have 8 cottages, I highly suggest that you book your room in advance.

Overall, we had an awesome and memorable stay at San Pedro Beach Resort in Romblon, Romblon. Although the resort's amenities and facilities are very basic, what makes it as one of the best beach resorts in Romblon is the quiet and serene beach experience it offers.

Staying at San Pedro Beach Resort will certainly take every guest into a memorable and relaxing resort accommodation experience. No wonder, it's a favorite beach resort among local and foreign tourists visiting Romblon.

How to Get to San Pedro Beach Resort

Coming from Romblon town proper, hire a tricycle to go to Talipasak or San Pedro Beach Resort. Standard rate is 200.00 pesos per way for a tricycle that could fit 2-3 persons. Additional fare is you're more than 3 passenger. For your tricycle needs, please contact Kuya Toto at 0918-525-0035 (Smart) or 0917-4827917 (Globe). He's a very nice tricycle driver and knows a lot about the town. He can also tour you on the tourist spots and attractions around the town. Please give my regards to him when you meet him. :)
