Madayaw Davao! It's Kadayawan Festival 2016 from August 15 - 21 in Davao City!
"Kadayawan Festival" is Davao City's highly-anticipated and most-attended festival in celebration of life, culture and a thanksgiving for the bountiful harvest. Held every third week of August, Kadayawan Festival 2016 is one of the grandest celebrations in the whole of Davao region and perhaps the whole of Mindanao.

August 20, 2016 (Saturday)
7:00 am - 12:00 nn | Magsaysay Park to Rizal Park, Davao CityIndak-Indak sa Kadalanan - Indak-indak, which literally means stomping one's feet on the ground, is a competition of different tribes-participants showcasing choreographed dance inspired by Mindanao's indigenous traditions, legends, myths and cultural events.
August 21, 2016 (Sunday)
8:00 am - 5:00 pm | Magsaysay Park to Rizal Park, Davao CityPamulak Kadayawan - a float parade featuring Davao Region's bountiful harvest of flowers and fruits.

How to Get to Davao City?
By Air
Being one of the highly-urbanized cities in Mindanao, Davao City can be easily reached by air from Manila and other key cities in the country such as Cebu and Zamboanga, among many others. Major local airlines such as Philippine Airline and Cebu Pacific Air have several flights daily to Davao City making it one of the most accessible cities in the country. By Land and Sea
Davao City can also be reached by land and sea from Metro Manila via RORO buses. You may check with Philtranco Bus Company and other bus companies for the schedule of trips.

Where to Stay in Davao City?
During Kadayawan Festival, I highly recommend that you book your accommodation in advance. Although, Davao City has a wide array of affordable and high quality hotels, guest/pension houses, hostel and inns for you to stay in, they are quickly get fully booked as the festival date comes near.
