Traveling for business or leisure can sometimes be tiresome and stressful, but staying at the right hotel can help ensure a better and memorable experience. I guess most of us would agree that an awesome room with a comfortable bed is what we all look forward to after a long day of touring and exploring. This is why when I travel, I am very particular in finding the ideal accommodation that can meet my needs, down to the essentials.
Just recently, we were back in Cebu for a 2-day summit courtesy of Weather Philippines Foundation. I've been to Cebu several times in the past, but we decided to extend our trip for 2 more days so that we could revisit some of Cebu's popular tourist destinations.
Since our flight back to Manila is very early in the morning, we decided to stay at Waterfront Airport Hotel Mactan (Check discounted rates online) near Cebu-Mactan International Airport. Being a bustling metropolis, the traffic congestion from Cebu City to Mactan has always been a problem for everyone. So, staying in a hotel near the airport will surely lessen the stress of your travel in getting to the airport.
Waterfront Airport Hotel Mactan
Upon arrival at the hotel, we were instantly impressed with Waterfront Hotel Mactan's spacious and lovely reception area. We were hospitably welcomed by the hotel staff, greeted us with warm smiles and assisted us with checking-in.
Since we already have prior reservation, checking-in was a breeze. It only took us about 5 minutes and we were given our room's keycards.
Superior Room
Our room is a classy Superior Room (Check discounted rates online) equipped with all the much-needed amenities for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The room is spectacular. It is about 35-40 sqm. room that could fit 2-3 persons. It is professionally-designed with enchanting rattan furniture that simply radiates a homey feel. It smells fresh, clean and really spacious with top-notch amenities designed for business and leisure travelers.
It has a king-sized bed that is soft and comfortable, plus the huge fluffy pillows, blankets and comforters that compliment it. I quickly tried it and I felt like I was melting into the bed as I lay my tired back. Very relaxing!
Other room amenities include an en suite toilet and bath, flat screen LED television with cable channels, individually-controlled air-conditioning unit, cabinet, a working desk, luggage rack, a telephone, an in-room safe and a breakfast nook. There's also a personal refrigerator filled with drinks and a mini bar with complimentary drinking water replenished daily and a coffee and tea making facility with complimentary coffee and tea.
As I sneaked into the toilet and bath, I was impressed with how spacious the bathroom is. It is a lavish marble-clad bathroom with a bathtub, shower area with rain shower feature and hot and cold shower. There's also a spacious lavatory with huge mirror, clean and sanitized water closet (unfortunately, no bidet spray), clothes and towel hanging area, hair dryer and all the toiletries were provided.
It also comes with basic toiletries and bathroom amenities such as shampoo with conditioner, bath gel, body lotion, soap, dental and vanity care kits. The bath towels are soft and all smell fresh! I couldn't ask for more!
With these room amenities, guests will surely have a comfortable and relaxing stay at Waterfont Hotel Mactan, that they might end up cancelling their planned tours and just stay inside the comforts of their room. Hahaha!
F&B Service
Wake to a satisfying breakfast buffet for 2 at Waterfront Hotel Mactan's in-house restaurant located at the lobby area. UNO Restaurant is an all-day casual dining restaurant that offers a wide selection of local and international dishes. The buffet breakfast that comes with every booking is served at UNO from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Open daily, they also serve ala carte menu during lunch and dinner.
The buffet spread is filled with delectable and mouthwatering selection of Filipino, American and Continental dishes. It is composed of different meat, fish and vegetables dishes to choose from. There's also a salad bar, a bread section, an egg station and a variety of pastries and fresh fruits for desserts. The food were good and satisfying! A great way to perk up our day!
Swimming Pool
Waterfront Hotel Mactan's huge swimming pool is so nice and kept very clean. The place is well-manicured and is surrounded with tall palm trees, lush ornamental and flowering plants. It also has day beds scattered around and outdoor dining tables where you could chill over some cocktails or a bottle of beer while enjoying the pool.
We spent most of our time during our 3-day stay just lounging at the pool area and enjoying the hotel's marvelously designed property with well-manicured gardens that blend with the natural setting of the trees and the garden. This is definitely the perfect spot to relax, read a book and enjoy the hotel's tropical surroundings while savoring your vacation.
Fitness Center
Every checked-in guests has complimentary unlimited access to the hotel's Fitness Center located near the swimming pool. It offers fitness equipment that every fitness enthusiast will surely love.
Internet Connection
Complimentary WIFI internet connection is available anywhere in the resort. Connection is good and reliable. For someone who always needs to be online, this is really an awesome treat!
