HOTEL REVIEW: Big 8 Corporate Hotel in Tagum City, Davao del Norte

Tagum, dubbed as "City of Palms," is a developing city in the province of Davao del Norte. Frequented by business and leisure travelers, it is home to some of the best hotels and resorts in Davao del Norte. One of them is Big 8 Corporate Hotel which we recently visited for a 3 day 2 nights stay during our recent trip in Davao region.

Located along the national hi-way, Big 8 Corporate Hotel Tagum (Check rates online) is a smart choice for travelers as it is just a 45-minute drive from Davao City. Its strategic location; being just a kilometer away from the city center and from the city's commercial and entertainment districts, as well as its tourist spots and attractions, makes it an ideal place to stay in Tagum City.

Upon arrival at the hotel, we were hospitably welcomed by the hotel staff and assisted us with our booking. Since we already have prior reservation, checking-in was fast and efficient. It only took us about 5 minutes and we were given the access key cards to our room.

Deluxe Room

Our room is an impressive Deluxe Room (Check rates online) designed for business and leisure travelers. It is also equipped with all the much needed essentials for a comfortable stay. It has 2 single beds complemented with clean white sheets, fluffy pillows and thick comforters. The room is characterized with shades of ivory and earth tone colors which create a relaxing and calming ambiance, which I like!

Other room amenities include an en suite toilet and bath, an individually-controlled airconditioning unit, cabinet, luggage rack, television set with cable channels, a vanity dresser with mirror, and a mini bar with refrigerator and coffee & tea-making facilities.

The toilet and bath has a clean water closet with bidet spray, a sink with mirror and an enclosed shower area with hot and cold shower feature. Complete toiletries such as shampoo, bath soap and dental care and vanity kits and bathroom amenities such as a hair dryer and clothes hanging area were also provided. The body and hand towels all smell fresh! I was impressed! For me, it is essential to have a bathroom that is clean and well-organized. Big 8 Corporate Hotel did not disappoint; from the sink to the water closet to the shower area, they are all clean.

Other Rooms

Assisted by one of the hotel's staff, we were given the chance to check on the other rooms. I love the hotel's elegant and classy interiors with long hallways that exudes a very cozy feel.

Each spacious rooms and suites is designed with the guests' comfort in mind. Whether you're a tourist or traveling on business, Big 8 Corporate Hotel is a great choice for accommodation in Tagum City. F & B Services

Big 8 Corporate Hotel has several dining outlets such as Vilma’s Oriental Cuisine, Billy’s Lounge, Knight Music Zone, Duke’s Al Fresco, The Poolside Bar, and 129 Coffeeshoppe.

Vilma’s Oriental Cuisine is a casual dining restaurant that offers a wide array of Chinese, international and local cuisines. The buffet breakfast that comes with every booking at the hotel is served at Vilma’s Oriental Cuisine from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

It also offers buffets with oriental dishes during weekends and Filipino cookery every last day of the month for only P450.00 per person. Weekday Salad and dessert buffet is also available from Monday until Thursday (lunch and dinner) for only P250.00 per person.

The buffet breakfast is composed of different meat, fish, chicken and vegetables dishes to choose from. There's also a variety of pastries and fresh fruits for desserts, and an omelette section where you could request how your omelette should be done.

The dishes change everyday, so even if you're staying for more than 1 night (just like us), you won't get bored with their breakfast buffet because there's always something new to look forward to each day. The food were good and we were satisfied in every breakfast we had.

Other Facilities and Amenities

An exciting array of amenities await every guest of Big 8 Corporate Hotel. Aside from the restaurants, bars and coffee shop, they also have a fitness gym that is free to use for guests, a spa, business center, garden, a lovely swimming pool and several function rooms and ballroom, ideal as a venue for private, corporate and other social events such as wedding receptions, birthdays, meetings and conventions. WIFI Internet Connection

For someone who wants to be always connected to the internet, the hotel offers complimentary WIFI internet access. It's fast and reliable. I love it because I could still browse the internet or update my social media account as I stay connected anywhere in the hotel.
