There are many wondrous waterfalls in the Philippines. Each waterfall is different from each other. I've been to many of them, from Luzon, Visayas, to Mindanao. And here's one unique waterfall we've visited recently in Masbate that I want to share to you. Definitely a must-visit when traveling to Masbate!
During our recent visit to Masbate, we had an awesome island hopping adventure in Ticao Island. It is one of the three major islands that form the Province of Masbate, along with Masbate and Burias Islands. Ticao is also divided into four municipalities, namely Batuan, Monreal, San Fernando, and San Jacinto.
One of the destinations we visited is the Catandayagan Falls in the town of San Jacinto. Located at the western side of Ticao Island, Catandayagan Falls is one of the most popular tourist spots and attractions in Masbate for its breathtaking, amazing and unique sight.
Accessible by boat, it can be reached via a one-hour boat ride from Masbate City. Tourists can enjoy the cool water of Catandayagan Falls by having the boat dock right below the waterfalls. Unfortunately, it's summer time when we visited it. The water that comes from the falls is not so strong. But still, we got to enjoy its cool water.
What makes Catandayagan Falls "unique and one-of-a-kind waterfalls in the Philippines," is that the water that rushes down empties straight into the sea. Towering at around 100 feet, this is the first time I've seen a waterfalls that falls directly to the open sea. It's quite an amazing sight to behold making it a must-visit when traveling to Masbate.
The best time to visit Catandayagan Falls is during the rainy season, so you would see it in its full glory. Don't miss it when visiting the province of Masbate!

If you want to visit Catandayagan Falls, you may drop by at the City Tourism Office of Masbate City in Masbate City Hall and they will assist you in arranging your island hopping adventure in Ticao Island.
