If you've been following my travels and adventures, I guess you'll know by now that I love old houses and structures. These houses and structures possess certain "old-world charm" that I adore and keeps me fascinated. In Manila, there are several old structures and houses that were adaptively re-used and turned into nice boutique hotels, inns, bed & breakfast, and hostels that you should check out on your next trip to Manila.

Built in 1918 and designed by Spanish architect-engineer Salvador Farre, The Luneta Hotel is considered as one of Manila's most historic hotel. In fact, it is one of the few remaining structures that survived the Liberation of Manila in 1945. The hotel was closed for decades until it was re-opened in 2014. For its notable architectural character of French Renaissance architecture and its significant historical value for the Old City of Manila, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines installed a historical marker at The Luneta Hotel on its re-opening in May 2014; you can see it at the door of the hotel.
The Luneta Hotel's guest rooms feature modern and contemporary interiors which gives guests an elegant feel and an old-world charm ambiance.
