TOP THINGS TO DO IN KUALA LUMPUR, TOURIST SPOTS AND ATTRACTIONS IN MALAYSIA
1. Visit Istana Negara (National Palace)
Located along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim (formerly Jalan Duta) in Segambut in northwestern part of Kuala Lumpur, the Istana Negara or the National Palace is the official residence of the monarch of Malaysia.
We were not able to get inside because visitors are only allowed at the main gate. But from the gate you could see the grandeur of the palace.
2. Relieve history at Tugu Negara (National Monument)
Tugu Negara or the National Monument is a monument that was built to commemorates the brave soldiers who died fighting for the independence of Malaysia. It is located in a huge complex divided into 5 components: the monument, the pavilion, the surrounding gardens, the fountains and the war memorial.

3. Take a photo of the National Mosque of Malaysia
Located in Jalan Perdana in Kuala Lumpur City, the National Mosque of Malaysia is a huge mosque that has a capacity of 15,000 people and an important symbol of the Islamic country of Malaysia. Entering the mosque is not allowed for non-Muslims.

4. Learn more about KL at Kuala Lumpur City Gallery
Located inside a historical building in Merdeka Square, the Kuala Lumpur City Gallery is a popular tourist destination in Kuala Lumpur. This small museum is an awesome place to learn more about the history of Kuala Lumpur through miniature models and The Spectacular City Model Show. It also has many scale models of Merdeka Square and the city of Kuala Lumpur, gift shop, and a Café. This is also where you could find the famous I❤️KL which is considered as one of the "most photographed structures" in Kuala Lumpur.
Entrance fee to Kuala Lumpur City Gallery is 10 RM, this already includes the The Spectacular City Model Show and a 5 RM rebate that you could spend in their souvenir shop or buy some snacks in their coffee shop.

5. Get a piece of history at Merdeka Square
Merdeka Square or Independence Square is where you could see some of the popular historical sites of Kuala Lumpur. Not to be missed is the 95-meter high flagpole which is considered as "one of the tallest in the world," located at the southern end of the square - just across Kuala Lumpur City Gallery (Galeri Kuala Lumpur).
Other interesting sites to visit at the Merdeka Square are: the Sultan Abdul Samad Building, the Royal Selangor Club, the former National History Museum, the St. Mary's Anglican Cathedral, and the original Kuala Lumpur Railway Station. Merdeka Square is the usual venue for the annual Merdeka Parade (National Day Parade).
6. Be Amazed by the KL Tower
One of the most distinguishable structures dominating Kuala Lumpur's skyline is the KL Tower. It is a communication tower with a height of 421 meter that was completed in 1995 and considered as the 7th tallest communication tower in the world and the tallest in Southeast Asia. From the city, you could see the KL Tower taller than the Petronas Towers but it's actually not. It is erected on hill which makes it look taller than the twin towers.

7. Visit Batu Caves
An iconic and popular tourist attraction in Selangor, Batu Caves is a Hindu Temple and Shrine frequented by Indians to practice Hindu religious rites. The cave is one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside India, and is dedicated to Lord Murugan. Located north of Kuala Lumpur, it is a limestone hill composed of three major caves and a number of smaller one. When visiting Batu Cave, be sure to be ready to climb up the 272 steps to get to the Temple Cave on top of the mountain.
There are no fees collected to enter the caves, but donation is accepted in the shrines. Also, remember that this is a place of worship. Proper dress code should be practiced. For women, be sure to cover your legs and shoulders; do not wear shorts, short skirts or low cut tops. For men, shorts are allowed.

8. Climb the Petronas Twin Towers
One of the most popular and highly visited modern structures in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia is the amazing Petronas Twin Towers. Dominating KL's skyline, it is the tallest building in the world from 1998 to 2004, now it is considered as the "World's Tallest Twin Towers" at a height of 452 meters. You may go here during day time, but the best time to visit it is during night time when the twin towers illuminate with lights.
It features Suria KLCC Shopping Mall which sells mostly foreign luxury goods and high-street labels. The shopping mall is also great place to buy some Malaysian local products. While waiting for our Petronas Tower Tour, I went to the grocery and bought some noodles, local chocolates, coffee, and some pasalubong for my family and friends back home.
Climbing Petronas Twin Towers
As a landmark of Kuala Lumpur, along with nearby Kuala Lumpur Tower, climbing the twin towers is a must when visiting Kuala Lumpur. Ticket price is at 85 RM. This will bring on a 1 hour tour to the Skybridge located at the 42 floor, and the observation deck at the 86th floor.

9. Watch a Cultural Show
Saloma Theater Restaurant offers buffet dining experience while you enjoy some Malay cultural dances. The buffet spread is quite good and I tried almost every Malaysian, Chinese and Indian cuisines at the buffet table. The cultural presentation showcasing Malaysia's cultural dances are feasts to the eyes while you enjoy your food. What not to miss? At the end of the show, guests will be asked to participate and try the cultural dances of Malaysia. Also, don't forget to have souvenir photos with the dancers.

10. Food Trip and Shopping
When in Kuala Lumpur, don't miss trying its local flavors - Malaysian, Indian and Chinese cuisines. For souvenir shopping, the local grocery stores are a good place to buy local Malaysian products. for other pasalubong and souvenirs such as ref magnets, t-shirts, key chains, and others, you can buy them at the many stores located at the tourist spots.
There are still many tourist spots, attractions and thing to do in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia that we weren't able to cover. But these top 10 destinations and things to do are my most recommended - especially for first-timers in Kuala Lumpur.

Air Asia has several daily flights from Manila to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Flights are at 06:40 AM, 12:55 PM and 05:05 PM daily. These flights depart from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 and arrive in Kuala Lumpuer International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 2.
