Universal Studios Singapore Experience (with Tips, Reminders, Ticket Prices, and More!)

Universal Studios Singapore (USS) is one of the only 2 Universal Studios Theme Parks in Asia. The first Universal Studios theme park in Asia is the Universal Studios Japan (USJ) in Osaka; and finally in 2011, Universal Studios Singapore was officially opened - making it the nearest and most accessible Universal Studios Theme Park from the Philippines. Unlike Japan, securing a visa is not required when visiting Singapore. For Filipinos wanting to experience the fun and adventure at a Universal Studios theme park, Universal Studios Singapore is the best option for us.

Located within Resorts World Sentosa, it features several attractions from various Universal and other studio companies' properties, including Jurassic Park, Madagascar, Shrek, The Mummy, Waterworld, Transformers, and more.

As one of the most visited attractions in Singapore, we made sure that we book our park tickets online so we could skip the long lines in the ticket booths. When we arrived at Universal Studios Singapore, we just showed the e-copy of the park tickets on our mobile phone, had it scanned at the turnstile, and entered the park. As easy and convenient as that!

Universal Studios Singapore is composed of seven theme zones, namely: Hollywood, New York, Sci-Fi City, Ancient Egypt, Lost World, Far Far Away, and Madagascar. Each zone offers exciting and thrilling rides, shops, restaurants, and other movie-themed attractions that the kids, adults, and the whole family will surely love.

Highlights of Universal Studios Singapore are the "TRANSFORMERS The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle" which is the World's First Transformers Ride, "Battlestar Gallactica: HUMAN vs. CYLON" which is the World's tallest dueling roller coaster ride, Revenge of the Mummy, Waterworld, and the Jurrasic Park Rapids Adventure.

For family fun, Universal Studios Singapore has "Madagascar: A Crate Adventure" which is the world's first Madagascar ride, Shrek 4D Adventure, "Puss in Boots' Giant Journey" the world's first Puss in Boots roller coaster ride, and the "Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase," which is the world's first Sesame Street immersive theme park ride.

If you're visiting Universal Studios Singapore this month, you'll be able to catch their Halloween Horror Nights (HNN) which is their special attraction for the Halloween Season. Available on selected nights from September 29th to October 29th, get scared and terrified in several haunted houses, scare zones and shows, and zombie laser tag attractions.

Must-see and experience is the Happy Horror Days scare zone, Make the Cut and Inside the Mind haunted houses, and the Laboratorium Show. General Admission Ticket for the HNN is S$68 (Php 2,576), but if you buy at Klook, you can get it for as low as Php 1,915.00.

Tips and Reminders

• Go to Universal Studios Singapore even before it opens at 10:00 AM. This will give you more time to take photos at the USS globe with lesser crowd.
• Once inside the park, grab a Studio Guide and orient yourself with the attractions for you to plan your tour around the park.
• The weather in Singapore is hot and humid, it is highly suggested that you wear comfortable and breathable clothes.
• Being a huge complex, you will be walking a lot. Be sure to wear comfortable pair of shoes. Closed shoes is highly recommended.
• When riding the attractions, it's best to check the queue time board at the entrance to know how long you’ll be lining up. In our case, we chose the attractions with shorter waiting time to maximize our time at the park.
• But if you really want to minimize the waiting time at the lines in the attractions, get advantage of the "Universal Express Pass" which will allow you to use a separate shorter queue for the rides.
• If you want to experience the meet-and-greet, check out the meet-and-greet timings on the daily programme schedule.
• There are paid and free lockers inside the park. Strollers and wheelchairs can also be rented at the park.
• For dining and souvenir shopping, take advantage of the $5 SGD discounts on restaurants and retail merchandise when you buy your tickets online via Klook.

Overall, we had fun and thrilling adventure at Universal Studios Singapore and at their Halloween Horror Night. It's a great way to have fun in Singapore, for adults, for kids, and for the whole family!

How to get to Universal Studios Singapore

From the city, take the train to Harbourfront Station. Enter Vivo City Mall, go to the 4th floor, buy a Sentosa Fun ticket for $4 SGD and take the Sentosa Monorail. Alight at the first stop which is the Waterfront Station. From here, you just need to walk for about 150 meters (2 mins) to Universal Studios Singapore.
