iDiscover is a neighborhood guide in the form of a savvy offline app and locally designed maps that let you discover the true spirit of historic neighborhoods in Asia. They work with locals who show their favorite places and tell their stories. Thus, offering uncommon and unique experiences that you will rarely find in most tour packages.
iDiscoverXTralulu Binodo Food Crawl
Few weeks ago, we were invited by our friends from Tralulu Travels as they partner with iDiscover App in launching the iDiscover Binondo Food Crawl Map. With the same mission of "experience traveling like a local with the locals," iDiscover and Tralulu gave us a very insightful and tummy-filling Binondo Food Crawl experience.
Known as the "World's Oldest Chinatown," Binondo is a haven for foodies and travelers wanting to experience its rich history, cultural heritage, and delectable Chinese cuisine. When it comes to food and dining, there is no place in Manila quite like Binondo. Here, you can find lots of authentic hole-in-the-wall establishments, food kiosks, and restaurants, serving cuisines originating from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.
During this iDiscoverXTralulu Binodo Food Crawl we we tasted Chinese-style fresh lumpia, sampled on dumplings, siomai and hakaw, sip on a hot bowl of La Mien noodles, snack on fried siopao, and end it with mouth-watering fusion desserts. Aside from that, we also get to know more about the restaurants and the food they serve as we meet the owners who graciously welcomed us and shared their stories to us.
Indeed, it was one memorable afternoon with the iDiscover and Tralulu team where we roamed around the colorful and charming Binondo district and got to taste a lot of Chinese dishes, meet locals, visit secret spots, and get to know "the world's oldest Chinatown" even better.
